The following year, he joined West Bromwich Albion on an initial season-long loan with an option of permanency scoring his first goal in the Championship win against Queens Park Rangers. The following year after appearing for the required matches, there was a trigger on a buyout clause, obligating Pereira’s purchase into the club.
