Career
Born in Leeds, James Milner began his football journey at Leeds United in 1996. He went through the club’s youth system before making his first-team debut on 10 November 2002, as a substitute in a match against West Ham. He was at the time 16 years and 309 days, and his appearance made him the second-youngest player ever to play in the English Premier League.
In 2003, Leeds loaned Milner to Swindon Town where he made just six league appearances before returning to his boyhood club.
Newcastle United signed James Milner in the summer of 2004 on a five-year deal. He made his debut for the club during their pre-season tour of Asia in the 1-1 draw against Kitchee. He scored his team’s only goal of the match.

Milner spent the 2005-06 season on loan at Aston Villa before returning to Newcastle United where he became a key player. In 2008, Villa signed the England international on a permanent deal and he spent two seasons there before joining Manchester City.
