- Sunday marks the Premier League final day for the 2022/23 season
- Albeit the title has already been won by Manchester City, only one team has been relegated so far
- Everton, Leeds United and Leicester City will battle for one slot available in the Premier League survival
Sunday marks the decisive moment in the battle for survival in the Premier League, as three clubs continue to fight to maintain their top-flight status. Alongside the already-relegated Southampton, two teams out of Everton, Leicester, and Leeds will face demotion to the Sky Bet Championship next season.
The final day of the season promises to be filled with high-stakes drama as we examine what each club must accomplish in order to evade relegation.
Everton
Opposition: Bournemouth (h)
Position: 17th
Points: 33
Goal difference: -24
For Everton, the solution is straightforward: secure a victory, and their concerns about relegation will be extinguished, regardless of the outcomes of other matches. However, anything less than a win could have dire consequences.
A draw would create an opportunity for Leicester to surpass Everton on goal difference by winning their own match. Additionally, if Leeds were to achieve a victory with a margin of three goals or more, they could also overtake Everton based on goals scored.
Nevertheless, even if Everton were to suffer defeat, they would still be safe from Premier League relegation if both Leicester and Leeds were unable to secure victories.

Leicester
Opposition: West Ham (h)
Position: 18th
Points: 31
Goal difference: -18
Dean Smith’s team, Aston Villa, must secure a victory as it is their only viable option for avoiding relegation. However, even with a win, there is no guarantee that it will be sufficient to secure their top-flight status.
Similarly, Leicester City’s hopes of avoiding relegation hinge on Everton’s performance. If Everton were to suffer defeat, Leicester would stay up by a single point. Alternatively, if the match between Everton and Leicester ends in a draw, Leicester City would maintain their Premier League status based on a superior goal difference.
Leeds
Opposition: Tottenham (h)
Position: 19th
Points: 31
Goal difference: -27
Leeds United, similar to Leicester City, face the requirement of securing a victory to enhance their chances of avoiding relegation. However, even with a win, they would still need to hope that both Everton and Leicester falter.

Furthermore, if Everton were to manage a draw, Leeds United would need to make up a goal difference of three or more to surpass them in the standings.
Furthermore, West Bromwich Albion, under the management of Sam Allardyce, would need an unlikely and significant improvement in goal difference, as they currently have a deficit of nine goals compared to their competitors. This substantial goal swing would be necessary for them to overtake Leicester City, in the event that Leicester were to secure a victory against West Ham.
