Eberechi Oluchi Eze was born on June 29 1999 in Greenwich, England to his Nigerian parents. He has two siblings- brothers who are Ikechi and Chima.

Growing up in one of the flats adjacent to the old Greenwich hospital in the capital of England, young Eze was a young athletic kid who played football as a childhood sport for recreational and escapes reasons.

His parents moved to England before his birth and settled in a place where they could afford to live.

His childhood was an ordinary one though he didn’t have much like most kids of his age around his neighborhood. However, he happily found a common ground with the kids by playing football with them at any given opportunity.

He began his training with the Arsenal youth system but was later released as they didn’t see him as a bright prospect, accepting Eddie Nketia whom they felt was better.

He secured himself a place at the Fulham academy and began enjoying football again. He got a few months stint at Club Reading F.C before joining Millwall F.C. Just when he thought that his future was promising, the club released him and he almost quit football.

He got a call to join Queens Park Rangers and this became solace to his troubled reality. Few months later, he signed his first contract with the club, giving him a chance to showcase his talent and skills.

He is a Christian believer who believes in God’s existence and is married to his long-time girlfriend Izuthe Mulatto.

Career

Eberechi began his youth career at Arsenal and was later dismissed. Upon dismissal, he joined Fulham and then Reading. He appeared as a youth player at Millwall where he signed a two-year scholarship.

At Millwall, he progressed at the U18 side and the reserve side. He left the club on failing to offer him a professional contract.

Following his release at Millwall, he joined Queens Park Rangers, making his debut in an FA Cup match against Blackburn Rovers. Unfortunately, he suffered an injury and was replaced. The club extended his contract with two more years.

He joined League 2 club Wycombe Wanderers on a loan, making a debut for the club as a substitute in a match against Newport County, rotating in different midfield positions.

He scored his first senior goal  against Cambridge United which earned him a nomination for Sky Bet League 2 Goal of the month.

He returned to Queens Park Rangers  on a three-year contract, where he played in different midfield positions and won the Club’s Sportito Supporters’ Player of the Year.

He signed for Crystal Palace on a five-year deal at a reported fee of $21.2 million and was given shirt number 10.

Because of his Nigerian ancestry, he trained with the Nigeria national team. He has played for England at different levels and also captained England U20 team.
