Martial suffered an hamstring injury during the Red Devils’ 2-1 victory over Fulham and will not be part of Saturday’s action at Wembley. The Frenchman joins Marcel Sabitzer, Donny van de Beek and Lisandro Martinez on the list of Manchester United players sidelined due to injuries.
Tests revealed that Martial had suffered a muscle tear.

“Anthony Martial is out of Saturday’s FA Cup Final against Manchester City due to injury. The French international strained his hamstring towards the end of Sunday’s 2-1 win against Fulham at Old Trafford. Assessments have since revealed a muscle tear that rules the 27-year-old out of the Wembley showdown.” Manchester United’s statement on Anthony Martial.
In an injury-hit campaign, Martial will have missed 33 matches. The France international has ended his season without competing 90 minutes. Nevertheless, he has been a crucial player for the Red Devils when on the pitch, scoring six goals and making two assists.
Martial is not ten Hag’s only injury concern for the final. Winger Antony is also on the injury list but will “probably” recover in time for the FA Cup final. The Brazilian was taken off on a stretcher in tears during Manchester United’s 4-1 victory over Chelsea.
Manchester United will be looking forward to deny city rivals bid to match the Treble won by Sir Alex Ferguson in 1999. A victory for them will be a big win for Erik ten Hag, who would have secured a domestic double for the club in his first season. The Red Devils already won the League Cup in February after beating Newcastle United at Wembley.

Manchester City, on the other hand, have already completed a step of the treble by winning the English Premier League. If they beat Manchester United on Saturday, they will quickly shift their attention to the UEFA Champions League, where they have high hopes this season.
Pep Guardiola has warned that some of his top players could miss the FA Cup final on Saturday. However, he has hopes that they’ll be ready to play the final.
“We have four or five players with niggles, not big injuries, but they are injuries. The guys who didn’t play here were really, really exhausted the day before and mentally, they were completely drained. The guys who are in Manchester – Ruben didn’t train for 10 days, Jack Grealish, as well. After the game against Brighton, Kevin felt the same feelings that he had before. It’s not a big issue, I think they will be ready.” Eurosport quotes Pep Guardiola.
