Alex Chuka Iwobi was born on May 3 1996 in Lagos to Chuba Iwobi who is a lawyer and at one time played amateur football. Two years later, the family moved to Turkey and then to the United Kingdom on an invitation by Jay Jay Okocha, the former super maestro who is a brother to Alex’ mother.
Iwobi spent most of his childhood in Newham, an East London community near Bolton Wanderers where his uncle played.
He joined English Premier League side Arsenal at eight years and he would multi task on handling his academics and football practice. In London, he met Tyrell Robinson and they began playing football in the neighborhood. The latter plays for Bradford City and their relationship is still intact.
He made his first appearance as a player for club Arsenal at 17 years and two years later, he signed a long-term contract with the Club.
Alex was in a relationship with a UK based model named Clarisse Juliette before she left him. At the time of their dating, they posted updates of each other from time to time and when things went south, they wiped their pages clean and unfollowed each other.

Career
At the age of eight years, Iwobi joined Arsenal and was almost dismissed at 14 and 16 years. His uncle Jay Okocha interceded for him and trained him harder. He improved and was able to showcase his skills in various matches.
This saw Arsenal sign him on a long-term contract. This time he came in fully prepared as he won in several senior matches giving Arsenal another challenge to sign him on a long term contract which was to end in 2023.
