Early life

Kalvin Phillips was born on 2nd December 1995in Leeds, England. His mother is Lindsay and his father is Mark.

They had triplets, but sadly one of them passed away.

Before joining Leeds United’s academy, Phillips played for his hometown team Wortley from 2003 to 2010.

During the 2014–15 season, he was chosen captain of the youth and under-18s squad, and coach Jason Blunt predicted Phillips would soon win over the supporters.

Growing up in his hometown of Leeds, Phillips always had dreams of playing for Leeds United, and on April 6, 2015, he made his debut for the team against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

One week later, in a match between Leeds and Cardiff City, he scored his first goal as a senior.

After receiving a new three-year contract from newly appointed coach Garry Monk, Phillips’ 2016–17 Championship campaign served as his breakthrough campaign.

He developed into a crucial member of Leeds United’s squad, and his outstanding play in October awarded him the Young Player of the Month accolade.
