Career
Bret Hart began his wrestling journey as a referee at his father’s Stu Hart’s promotion Stampede Wrestling in 1976. After a successful six-year stay with Stampede Wrestling, he made a transition to World Wrestling Federation (now WWE) as part of the Hart Foundation. He joined the promotion with his brother-in-law, Jim Neidhart.
Hart, also known as Hitman, won his first WWF Intercontinental Championship in the early 1990s. He followed this win with a massive victory at the 1991 King of the Ring tournament.
Hart faced off some of the biggest stars in WWF after winning the WWF Championship. He had an iconic feud with the legendary Stone Cold Steve Austin before joining WCW, where he became the United States Heavyweight Champion.
