Alexis Mac Allister is slated to leave Brighton & Hove Albion this summer and will remain in the Premier League.

The 24-year-old midfielder, who signed a new long-term contract earlier this season, has officially disputed suggestions that he plans to leave the Amex Stadium this summer, but his representatives, notably his father Carlos, are hard at work trying to find him a new club.

Liverpool are expected to sign up to three new midfielders this summer, but 90min stated that Tottenham, Chelsea, and Newcastle have all expressed interest in Mac Allister. Manchester City and Manchester United are also said to be keeping an eye on his position.

Brighton CEO Paul Barber told talkSPORT on Monday that the Seagulls ‘don’t know’ what the summer will bring for Mac Allister’s future, but he did not rule out a move for the 24-year-old.

Indeed, 90min knows that Brighton, who have been left irritated behind the scenes by his desire to leave, will enable Mac Allister to leave under the appropriate conditions, as they have done for Marc Cucurella, Ben White, and Leandro Trossard during the last 18 months.

However, a deal worth more than £70 million may be required to persuade Brighton to sell their World Cup winner – a figure that is likely to rule out a move away from the Premier League and instead leave Mac Allister seeking a move to one of the division’s considered ‘big six’.

In terms of Mac Allister’s father, he is sure that a transfer will take place this summer, telling Argentine media over the weekend that he expects a deal to be completed.

“The next phase of his career will pass and he will be playing within another institution, we don’t know which one as the talking are just beginning in general but most likely by next month,” he told Argentine outlet Ole. “From July he will be playing for another team.”
