Early life

Hakimi was born in Madrid, Spain, on November 4, 1998. Hakimi was raised in a Madrid suburb. His mother pushed him to participate in sports as a young, active youngster, including swimming, but Hakimi loved football.

His parents, who are Moroccan and arrived in Madrid, Spain, while they were in their 20s, have two more siblings in addition to Hakimi, who is the firstborn. Despite being raised in Europe, his family has strong African roots.

Hakimi was more of a football lover and he spent more time practising than reading, he did poorly in school. His parents first disapproved of his decisions but over time they came to grips with it and embraced Hakimi’s decisions.

Hakimi developed his football skills while he was at the Academy, allowing him to move up the levels without much difficulty. As a result, he was promoted to the Club’s senior team in 2016. He was then selected to join Los Blancos’ main team in August 2017 as a backup to Dani Carvajal and Nacho Fernandez.

Achraf Hakimi received jersey number 19, with which he integrated and became familiarized with the Real Madrid first team excellently. Achraf Hakimi has played for his country at the under-17 and under-20 levels. He earned his under-23s debut in a 1-0 friendly victory over the Cameroon U23s on June 5, 2016.

Hakimi made his full international debut on October 11, 2016, in a 4-0 victory against Canada, replacing Fouad Chafik. Hakimi has a distinguished international career and represented Morocco at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.

The player was included in Morocco’s 26-man team for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar on November 10, 2022. In the round of 16, he scored the game-winning goal in a penalty shootout against Spain to advance his nation to the quarterfinals.
