5. Mohamed Salah – £373,750

According to reports, Mohamed Salah at Liverpool now earns £373,750 a week after agreeing to a lucrative new contract with the team in the summer.

After a protracted dispute over his future, Liverpool and Salah reached a club-record agreement. The Reds moved to reach an agreement as the Egyptian’s current contract was about to expire.

Since joining Liverpool from Roma in 2017, Salah has scored 178 goals in 298 games, earning three Premier League Golden Boot awards.

He finished the 2021–2022 season as the Premier League’s top scorer and assist producer, feats that earned him the PFA Players’ Player of the Year and FWA Footballer of the Year double for the second time in his career.

4. Jadon Sancho – £373,750

Salah and Jadon Sancho are tied for the fourth-highest-paid players in the Premier League. Sancho left Borussia Dortmund in 2021 for Manchester United in a £72.9 million transfer, capping a successful run in the Bundesliga during which he contributed 114 goals and assists in 134 appearances across all competitions.

Sancho, who has had little success in the Premier League, was allowed some time away from the Manchester United team this season to pursue a rigorous individual training regimen in an effort to regain his form.

He has subsequently joined Erik ten Hag’s team, and he will be eager to establish a regular position in the lineup. In 68 appearances for the Red Devils, the 23-year-old has ten goals to his name.

3. David de Gea – £402,250

Another Manchester United player on this list is goalkeeper David de Gea, who supposedly earns £402,250 each week.

When De Gea renewed his contract in 2019, the Red Devils guaranteed the long-term future of the four-time Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year, making him the highest-paid goalkeeper in football.

At the end of the current campaign, the Spaniard’s existing contract will expire, and United has not been able to reach an agreement on terms for a new one. Although the 32-year-old rejected the club’s initial offer, both parties are reportedly eager to reach an agreement.

United decided not to exercise the default one-year extension clause in De Gea’s contract in order to negotiate a shorter agreement and lessen the wage discrepancy at Old Trafford.

2. Erling Haaland – £402,250

Erling Haaland joined Manchester City last summer on a deal with a base pay of reportedly £402,250 per week.

The 22-year-old has established a new club record with 42 goals in all competitions and has been nearly unplayable since his introduction to English football.

His accomplishments include four hat-tricks in the Premier League and a five-goal thrashing of RB Leipzig in the Champions League. He is now well on his way to breaking the division’s record for a 38-game season.

Haaland needs just two more goals to tie Ruud van Nistelrooy and Mohamed Salah’s record for the most successful season by a Premier League player overall (44 goals), which is currently held by van Nistelrooy.

According to reports, Haaland’s real pay totals £865,000 each week when possible bonuses are taken into account, making the Norwegian officially the highest-paid player in the league.

1. Kevin De Bruyne – £425,000

Yet, according to L’Equipe, Kevin De Bruyne, a midfielder for Manchester City, earns £425,000 per week at the Etihad. He is the best-paid player in the Premier League.

De Bruyne renewed his contract in 2021, ensuring that his greatest seasons would be spent with City. The Belgian international has eight medals to his name at the club, including four Premier League championships, and has twice been voted PFA Player of the Year.

The 32-year-old is currently ranked seventh all-time for goals created after tying the Premier League record for assists in a single season (20) in 2019–20. Just two more assists will be needed for him to achieve 100 in the Premier League.
