Career 

Mateo Kovacic began training with Dinamo Zagreb senior team in October 2010. He made his debut the following month, scoring the fourth goal as his side demolished Hrvatski Dragovoljac 6-0 in the 2010-11 Prva HNL.

Kovacic spent three seasons with Dinamo Zagreb, winning the Prva HNL two times and the Croatian Cup twice. In January 2013, he transferred to Inter Milan for an initial 11 million Euros. The amount was to rise to 15 million if Inter Milan was to qualify for the Champions League.

Young Kovacic was given the number 10 jersey previously won by Wesley Sneijder. He would spend two seasons with the Italian giants before joining Real Madrid in the summer of 2015.
