Carlos Alcaraz powered through to Miami Open semis with straight-set wins over Taylor Fritz on Thursday night.
The world No. 1 was dominant once again as he showed no sign of slowing down any time soon. He beat Taylor Fritz 6-4 6-2 to ensure he progresses to the last four in style.

Carlos fired 20 winners and conceded just 13 unforced errors in the match played under the lights at Hard Rock Stadium. The most lethal part of his game was the forehand, which produced 11 winners to just 3 unforced errors.
The Spanish player set the tone very early, breaking Taylor in the very first game. The two then held serve afterwards until Carlos claimed the opening set.
Alcaraz then struck early again in the second set, breaking in the first game. They then traded holds for the next five games before the world number one broke one more time to take a 5-2 lead. He eventually won it by serving at love to book a spot in the semis.
The 19-year-old has now won his last 10 matches and 20 sets in a row. Carlos Alcaraz is now two wins away from becoming the first teenager to win the Sunshine Double after making it to Miami Open semis.
Speaking after his victory, the Spain international said he felt a little bit of nerves at the beginning of the clash.
“A little bit of nerves at the beginning of the match. It was new for me, playing against him. I knew that I had to play my game, the way that I was playing the previous matches, at a high level for me. Of course, I’m very happy with the way I started the match, with no mistakes and with a lot of power. It was a key for me to break his serve at the beginning and then [play] my game.” Eurosport quotes Carlos Alcaraz.
Who Will Carlos Alcaraz Face In Miami Open Semis?
Alcaraz will face another youngster, Jannik Sinner, in the semis on Friday. Sinner booked his spot in the semi-final after defeating Emil Ruusuvuori on Wednesday.
Whereas Sinner has at least a day to rest, Alcaraz only has a few hours to relax because of the rain that postponed his clash with Taylor Fritz.

Sinner and Alcaraz already met at Indian Wells and it will take a sensational performance for Sinner to beat the Spain international. Alcaraz is targeting the Sunshine Double as he also plans to retain his world number one ranking. It will be the sixth meeting between Alcaraz and Sinner, with the former leading 3-2 as shown by their head-to-head stats.
Carlos Alcaraz has already spoken about how comfortable he feels while playing on hard courts. Well, his performance in Indian Wells and Miami Open has already backed up his perspective. Alcaraz is through to Miami Open semis.
