  • Brandt’s current contract at Borussia Dortmund is set to expire at the end of next season

According to reports, Borussia Dortmund is fighting to hang onto forward Julian Brandt despite interest from the top clubs in England and Italy.

With nine goals across all competitions, Brandt, 26, is having probably his best season in the yellow and black since joining from Bayer Leverkusen before the 2019–20 season.

The 39-cap Germany international has taken advantage of the additional attention Dortmund has received this season by putting on impressive performances alongside Jude Bellingham and Youssoufa Moukoko, two of the game’s brightest prospects.

Numerous Champions League teams are alleged to have inquired about Brandt’s availability, despite Dortmund’s intense desire to retain him as a long-term member of the team.

Arsenal, Manchester City, Liverpool, Newcastle United, Napoli, and Inter are just a few of the teams keeping a careful eye on Brandt as his contract is about to expire, according to Football Insider.

According to the report, Dortmund is confident that they can keep hold of their top talent despite the growing level of interest. However, if Brandt does not make it clear that he plans to stay with the team past next season, Dortmund may be compelled to make a move.

Bellingham’s anticipated sale is expected to bring in a sizable windfall, so the club is probably not under any financial pressure to part ways with Brandt sooner than they would like.

Romelu Lukaku is on loan from Chelsea and is reportedly being courted by Real Madrid unexpectedly. Lukaku is not anticipated to return to Stamford Bridge when his current loan to Inter expires.

Transfer Round-up

Leicester City’s 26-year-old midfielder James Maddison will reportedly be a top priority acquisition for Newcastle at the end of the current campaign, and if the Magpies are successful in qualifying for the Champions League, there will be reciprocal interest.

According to Fichajes.net, Barcelona is preparing a €100 million double transfer to sign right-back Juan Foyth, 25, of Villarreal, and forward Vitor Roque, 18, of Athletico Paranaense.

According to 90min, Gabri Veiga, a 20-year-old standout midfielder for Celta Vigo who has a £35 million (€40 million) release option, is being scouted by Manchester United, City, Newcastle, Brighton and Hove Albion, Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal, and Brentford. Veiga has a release clause.

Victor Osimhen, a 24-year-old striker for Napoli, reportedly has a dream of starring in the Premier League and is open to a transfer to either Bayern Munich or England, according to journalist Florian Plettenberg.
