The biggest club competitions in European football returned to our screens in mid-February
Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League are not at their peak
There were some mouth-watering ties taking place across the continent, none more so than in Milan
The biggest club competitions in European football returned to our screens in mid-February, with the Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League all taking centre stage. There were some mouth-watering ties taking place across the continent, none more so than in Milan.
Italian Champions AC Milan took on Spurs at the San Siro and managed to pick up a 1-0 victory courtesy of Brahim Diaz’s early strike. As such, odds checker, which compares European football odds and free offers, now makes the Scudetto-holders the favourites to progress to the quarter-finals.
There was a whole host of other huge games across Europe. Here are the most impressive results from each competition.

Champions League – Paris Saint-Germain 0-1 Bayern Munich
While there were victories for the aforementioned AC Milan, as well as Borussia Dortmund and Benfica, the most impressive result was Bayern Munich’s 1-0 victory in the Parc Des Princes. The Bavarians squared off with the French champions in a repeat of the 2020 final, and just as was the case in Lisbon three years ago, a solitary second-half Kingsley Coman goal was enough to secure the victory.
Bayern shouldn’t rest on their laurels, however. In the final 20 minutes, they came under intense pressure from the hosts and in three weeks’ time, the Parisians will have a fully fit Kylian Mbappé to rely on. He put the German champions’ defence to the sword in a knockout tie two years ago, and he will be hoping to do the same again next month.
Europa League – Bayer Leverkusen 2-3 AS Monaco
AS Monaco headed to the BayArena as firm underdogs. However, the French side had recently beaten PSG in Ligue 1, and they raced out of the blocks in Germany, taking an early lead thanks to Lukáš Hrádecký’s horror own goal.
The hosts roared back into the contest however, and two goals in 11 minutes from Moussa Diaby and Florian Wirtz gave them the lead. The visitors weren’t finished, however. They equalised with 15 minutes remaining through Krépin Diatta, before bagging the winner in the 92nd minute thanks to Axel Disasi.

Europa Conference League – Braga 0-4 Fiorentina
Portuguese side Braga headed into their contest with Fiorentina as the firm favourites to progress. They currently sit in third in the Portuguese top flight, just seven points behind league leaders Benfica. The Viola meanwhile are way down in 14th in Serie A, seven points above the relegation zone. But the visitors ripped up the script.
Luka Jović gave the Florence club the lead on the stroke of halftime. Braga defender Vitor Tormena was given his marching orders 10 minutes after the restart, and the Florence-based outfit pressed home their extra man advantage. Jović added a second before Arthur Cabral added a brace of his own to seal a memorable victory.
