Just a few minutes after Amanda’s win, Taylor came into the ring, and the two confirmed Amanda Serrano vs Katie Taylor rematch to be on May 20 in Dublin, Ireland. This will be Katie’s first professional fight in her country.

The location of the fight has not been named, but according to ESPN, 13,000-seat 3Arena and 82,000-seat Croke Park have been mentioned as possibilities.

Speaking after Amanda’s win on Saturday night, Taylor said that it is more than a dream come true to make her debut in Ireland against the Puerto Rican.

“This is more than a dream come true — my debut in Ireland against Amanda Serrano, ‘The Real Deal’. This is incredible, and as I said, the last fight was epic, and I expect nothing less for the next one.” Katie Taylor said after joining Amanda Serrano in the ring, according to ESPN

Katie Taylor defeated Amanda on points when they met at Maddison Square Garden in April last year. The Irish boxer won the fight by split decision to defend her undisputed lightweight title.

Since Amanda Serrano vs Katie Taylor 1, Serrano has fought twice. She defeated Sarah Mahfoud in September to claim the IBF featherweight title, and her win over Erika Cruz on Saturday night made her the undisputed featherweight champion.

Amanda Serrano Defeat Erika Cruz

Amanda Serrano and Erika Cruz met at the Hulu Theatre at Maddison Square Garden on Saturday night for their undisputed featherweight championship fight.

Serrano went into her 47th professional fight as a strong favourite, and in the end, she emerged victorious. Erika Cruz (15-2, 3 KOs) suffered her first loss in nearly seven years.

Erika made things difficult for Serrano in the first round due to her aggressive style of fighting. However, the Puerto Rican soon got into the match, and the pair constantly threw punches.

Erika suffered a cut to her head in the third round following an accidental clash and there were fears that the fight could be stopped. However, she continued to fight hard.

Amanda was close to knocking down Erika in the sixth round, but she held on before suffering her first loss in nearly seven years. Speaking after the match, Amanda said that she didn’t expect anything less than what her opponent gave her in the ring.

“Erika was a Mexican champion, she worked hard, that’s what we trained for. I didn’t expect anything less than what she gave me this night. They sent me back to basics, and I was listening to my corner, who asked me to go 1-2, which worked.” BBC Sports quotes Amanda Serrano.
