AFC Leopards will look to continue in their positive run when they take on struggling Vihiga Bullets at the Nyayo National Stadium on Wednesday, in a rescheduled FKF Premier League match.
Leopards have picked 10 out of a possible 12 points in their last four matches and they will be keen to earn another haul of three points to see them move into the top five of the standings.
Head coach Patrick Aussems says he will need to rotate his squad to ensure freshness especially having played four games in the last 12 days.
“For us, freshness is key. We need to make some rotation and I want to keep my players fit for the next two weeks. I have a very small squad and some of them are still young. We have maybe 13 or 14 players who can always play and the options are limited. But we mist make sure that we give them some rest,” said the tactician.
He added; “For sure it has been tough because of the young squad we have. But I am hoping we can manage this situation over the next one week because after that at least we have one week between games.”
Wary of Bullets threat

The tactician is wary of bullets despite their poor form. The Vihiga based side have won only once this season and did not even travel to Nairobi for their last match against Sofapaka last weekend due to financial constraints.
Despite that, the coach still says he will ensure his team is ready for the match as they seek a fourth win in five matches.
Leopards have won three of their last four matches and their last game was a barren draw against arch rivals Gor Mahia in the Mashemeji Derby.
He says he is pleased with the team’s run so far and hopes they can continue the same way.
“Last season, we didn’t win three matches in a row but this season we have. We made a point against Gor Mahia which was not an easy match,” said the coach.
Police face Mathare United at Kasarani

Meanwhile, Kenya Police FC, still basking in the glory of their 3-0 thrashing of champions Tusker Fc over the weekend will face off with Mathare United at the Moi Sports Centre Kasarani. Mathare come into the tie with the burden of a 5-1 thrashing at the hands of Kakamega Homeboyz and will be hungry to bounce back.
Despite their struggles, Police head coach Francis Baraza is not taking them lightly.
“We know it will be a tough match because they (Mathare) play good football. They will definitely come wounded and come to compete and we are ready for that. For us, our target is to continue our winning run,” said the tactician.
Mathare’s only win in nine matches this season has been a surprise 3-1 victory over Bidco United.
Meanwhile in the other midweek FKF Premier League fixture, another struggling side Wazito FC will take on FC Talanta at the Muhoroni Complex.
