Despite Chelsea’s FA Cup loss to Manchester City on Sunday by a score of 4-0, Graham Potter continues to enjoy the board’s support.
Chelsea exited both domestic cups, falling to 10th in the Premier League, and the former Brighton manager has been under fire due to a run of six losses in nine games in all competitions.
Throughout Sunday’s game, supporters sang Thomas Tuchel’s name, the former manager who was fired in September.
Chelsea, however, sees Tuchel’s replacement, Potter, as a long-term choice.

The club’s performance, which a long number of ailments has not aided, is believed to be able to improve with his help.
The team wishes to depart from the methods used by former owner Roman Abramovich, who was infamous for his excessive manager turnover.
Chelsea supporters sang the Russian’s name during the defeat at Manchester City.
Potter stated after the game: “We have to keep improving and stick together because plainly we are suffering as a football team.”

Injured Blues players Christian Pulisic, N’Golo Kante, Reece James, Wesley Fofana, Ben Chilwell, and Raheem Sterling will be absent.

A portion of Chelsea’s travelling supporters were overheard singing the names of former managers Thomas Tuchel and Roman Abramovich during their defeat at the Etihad Stadium. The team is currently 10th in the Premier League with just one win in their last eight games and is also eliminated from both domestic cup competitions.
The first-half performance was deemed “awful,” “embarrassing,” and “terrible” by former England striker Alan Shearer, and Potter acknowledged Chelsea were “obviously struggling as a football team.”
Riyad Mahrez scored twice, Julian Alvarez scored, and Phil Foden scored goals as Manchester City put on a commanding performance that has raised concerns over Potter’s future only four months into his tenure.
Potter’s transfer from Brighton hasn’t yet paid off for Todd Boehly’s team, as they are currently 10 points outside the Champions League spots.
Until a Mason Mount attempt that was deflected wide in the 54th minute, Chelsea failed to even remotely threaten Stefan Ortega’s goal in a first half that Potter described as “terrible.”
Injuries prevented nine players from participating in this game, which allowed adolescent Bashir Humphreys to make his senior debut in defence. According to Potter, the results in such a short period of time are not encouraging.
