Early Life 

Eddie Nketiah biography states that he was born on May 30, 1999, in Lewisham, London, to Ghanaian parents. He grew up in southeast London.

Eddie’s father allowed him to play football at a young age in London’s Football flavoured South-east. He enjoyed competitive games, especially between Northern boys and southern London kids.

He was scouted by Chelsea at the age of nine while playing for Hillyfielders. At Chelsea’s academy, Nketiah played alongside the likes of Mason Mount and Callum Hudson-Odoi.

His time with the Blues came to an end in 2015 when the club released him alongside other academy players. Fortunately, Arsenal signed him, and he played for the club at the youth level.

Career

On September 28, 2017, Eddie Nketiah received a call to play for Arsenal’s first team in a UEFA Europa League match against BATE Borisov. He came on as a substitute in the 89th minute as Arsenal won 4-2.

The England international made his next appearance for the Gunners one month later, coming on as a substitute in the 85th minute during an EFL Cup match against Norwich City. He scored with his first touch to equalize for Arsenal 15 seconds after coming on. He then netted the winner in extra time.

The youngster was to go on loan to FC Augsburg in January 2019, but an injury to Danny Welbeck meant that he remained at the Emirates Stadium.

He scored his first Premier League goal on May 12, 2019, in a match against Burnley. He received a runners-up medal as Arsenal lost 4-1 to Chelsea in the 2018-19 UEFA Europa League final.

Arsenal loaned Eddie Nketiah to Championship club Leeds United in the summer of 2019. The talented striker scored in his debut as Leeds United defeated Salford City 3-0.

Arsenal recalled Nketiah from his loan on January 1, 2020. He scored the winning goal in Arsenal’s FA Cup fourth-round victory over AFC Bournemouth.
