Borussia Dortmund have increased their contract offer to striker Youssoufa Moukoko in an attempt to prevent him from leaving on a free transfer.
The 18-year-old is in the final six months of his deal and Dortmund had been struggling to make any progress in negotiations, which offered hope to his lengthy list of suitors that one of the game’s top young talents could be available for cheap.
Moukoko has attracted interest from the likes of Barcelona, Chelsea and Newcastle United, with a switch to Camp Nou believed to be the striker’s preferred move if he does leave Germany in 2023.
Having seen several initial offers knocked back, sources report that Dortmund have submitted a renewed offer to Moukoko that comes significantly closer to meeting the teenager’s demands.

While an agreement has not yet been struck, Dortmund are optimistic their latest proposal, around €10m per year including bonuses, is enough to get the job done.
Moukoko’s advisor, Patrick Williams, is currently in Spain to speak with Dortmund at their warm weather training camp in Marbella. Talks are on between Williams and club chiefs Sebastian Kehl and Hans-Joachim Watzke in the hope of reaching an agreement.
Dortmund are keen to have Moukoko’s future wrapped up before they leave Spain. Their final friendly of the tour comes against Basel on Friday, after which they will head home.
Back in the Premier League, Fulham are ready to hand a new long-term contract to manager Marco Silva as a reward for his outstanding progress with the club, SportsLeo understands.
Silva has just 18 months left on the three-year deal he signed when succeeding Scott Parker following the club’s relegation to the Championship, having previously had spells in charge of Everton, Watford and Hull.

Silva guided Fulham to the Championship title as they dominated in the second tier, and he has now has the club riding high in the Premier League’s top six after a brilliant 2-1 win over big-spending neighbours Chelsea.
Fulham is firmly on course to avoid relegation for the first time in three league promotions and has accumulated more points after 19 games this season than during the entire 2020/21 campaign.
It is now reported that Fulham are keen to reward Silva’s outstanding work with a new contract, knowing that the club’s progress under the Portuguese has not gone unnoticed elsewhere in the Premier League.
Indeed, Fulham believe that extending Silva’s stay is crucial to their project in both the short and long-term, and there’s hope that the 45-year-old will want to put pen to paper on a new deal after a sustained run of fantastic results.
