In order to meet their ongoing need for a new central midfielder, Arsenal will reportedly make one final push for Jorginho of Chelsea and Youri Tielemans of Leicester City before the transfer window closes.

One of Leicester’s best players, Tielemans has started 18 of the team’s 20 Premier League games this season and appeared in all 20. He has contributed three goals and an assist.

Jorginho, who is in his sixth season at Stamford Bridge, is still a crucial member of the Chelsea team. He has made 15 league starts this season, including two as captain.

However, both players’ contracts are about to expire and they will both be eligible for free transfers at the end of the current season. As a result, both teams might be open to accepting a substantially lower price for very important assets.

Arsenal are reportedly no longer interested in pursuing Moises Caicedo, a 21-year-old star player for Brighton and Hove Albion, and are instead considering Jorginho as a suitable replacement, according to Football London.

According to the report, Chelsea is willing to allow the Italian international leave because they believe Enzo Fernandez from Benfica will replace him soon.

Arsenal will make another attempt to sign Martin Zubimendi of Real Sociedad and Caicedo, according to Football London, but both players are viewed as improbable choices.

According to 90min, Leicester would be more willing to let Tielemans leave if they weren’t involved in a relegation fight, but as things stand, they would need a “big” offer to put a transfer fee ahead of their chances of staying in the Premier League.

Apart from Jorginho from Chelsea, Arsenal also want to bring on board Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans in the Janaury transfer window before the end of the deadline day. | PHOTO: Daily Express |

Other Transfer news on deadline day

Leeds United will reportedly make an attempt to sign Roma’s Nicolo Zaniolo after he turned down Bournemouth, according to Calciomercato, although Roma are unlikely to agree until the entire transfer fee is paid up front.

According to L’Equipe, Hakim Ziyech of Chelsea is interested in a loan to Paris Saint-Germain and would rather go to France than another Premier League team.

Harry Maguire, the captain of Manchester United, has reportedly turned down Inter’s offer to lend him money in favor of competing for a spot, though he will reassess his options at the end of the current campaign.

When N’Golo Kante’s contract with Chelsea expires at the end of the current season, El Nacional is suggesting that Liverpool will attempt to sign him.

Southampton has reportedly agreed to pay the £26.2 million (€30 million) release clause for 22-year-old Vitinha, a forward for Braga.
