The Gunners moved eight points clear at the top of the Premier League table with a 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Mikel Arteta’s side took the lead after Hugo Lloris clumsily spilled a Bukayo Saka cross into his net in an attempt to capitalize on Manchester City’s defeat to Manchester United on Saturday.

The game started evenly, but Hugo Lloris nearly put his team on the back foot with some sloppy goalkeeping. Gabriel Martinelli put pressure on Lloris and put Clement Lenglet in a difficult situation.
Lenglet somehow got the ball back into the box, and Eddie Nketiah unleashed a left-footed shot that Lloris saved.
Arsenal took the lead in the 14th minute after Spurs’ keeper made another error. Saka entered the box and fired from a tight angle. The ball struck Lloris’ hand and landed in the net.
Spurs had a chance three minutes later when Ryan Sessegnon played Son into the box, but Aaron Ramsdale saved the South Korean forward’s shot.
Lloris then denied Odegaard in the 23rd minute as Arsenal piled on the pressure. Two minutes later, Spurs were clearly on the back foot when Thomas Partey’s shot rattled the crossbar.

The Gunners’ perseverance paid off in the 36th minute when Odegaard unleashed a shot from outside the box into the bottom corner to double the lead.
Spurs needed a pep talk from their manager, which the half-time whistle provided. The home team came out looking stronger and began to create chances.
Kulusevski had a shot blocked in the 48th minute before feeding a ball into the box to Kane in the 50th. Ramsdale saved the Spurs forward’s shot.
Kane fed Sessegnon with a delightful ball into the box in the 52nd minute, but the Spurs man’s shot was saved once more by Ramsdale to keep the score at 2-0.
Spurs had a firm grip on the game. Nketiah got a shot off in the 69th minute, but Lloris was up to the task of keeping Spurs in the game.
Arsenal had a chance to seal the game in the 79th minute, but Saka’s shot sailed over the crossbar.
As Spurs attempted to get the ball past the Arsenal defence, there was a scramble inside the box. Ramsdale quickly saved Richarlison’s effort.
Kane had a shot in the 84th minute, but it went wide. Five minutes were added on, but Arsenal took all three points.

Following an altercation with Richarlison, the Arsenal goalkeeper appeared to be kicked by a Spurs supporter behind the Spurs goal as he retrieved his water bottle.
However, the situation was quickly resolved, leaving Arsenal to celebrate a victory that puts them in command of the Premier League title race and leaves their north London rivals in fifth place, five points behind fourth-placed Manchester United.
