  • Chelsea will look for a new striker in January after the blow on Armando Broja who is out for the rest of the season

In an effort to capitalize on their young talent, Atletico Madrid is reportedly interested in selling striker Matheus Cunha with Premier League sides Everton and Wolves interested in the forward.

The 23-year-old joined the team in August last year, but despite making 29 La Liga appearances, he only received eight starts. He finished the season with six goals and six assists.

The Brazilian international’s season has continued in the same vein, with just two starts and 15 substitute appearances across all club competitions. He hasn’t scored yet this year.

Atletico Madrid, which is currently sixth in La Liga with seven victories in 14 games and was eliminated from all European competition by placing last in their Champions League group, has decided it’s time for some changes.

Wolves and Everton are the two clubs most interested in signing Cunha, who has eight caps for Brazil but was left off of their World Cup roster, according to Fichajes.

According to the source, the club must let go of a few notable players due to financial constraints. While Thomas Lemar and Rodrigo De Paul have a large number of suitors, Atletico are more likely to part ways with Cunha and fellow Brazilian Felipe.

Wolves are reportedly looking into a potential deal to sign both Cunha and 33-year-old centre-back Felipe, whereas Everton is only interested in Cunha by himself and have not disclosed an asking price.
