Early Life
Stone Cold Steve Austin was born on December 18, 1964, in Austin, Texas. He spent most of his childhood days in Texas after his parents divorced when he was just a year old. He moved with his mother.
Steve Austin attended Edna High School and later joined Wharton County Junior College. The future wrestling star would later move to the University of North Texas on a full scholarship.
Austin played football in high school and university, but all he wanted was to be a professional wrestler. He was influenced into wrestling by the likes of Ric Flair, Dusty Rhodes and Von Erich family.
Wrestling Career
Stone Cold Steve Austin wrestling career or journey began in 1989 when he joined Chris Adams’s school in the Dallas Sportatorium.
Austin joined World Championship Wrestling (WCW) in 1991 and adopted the nickname Stunning. He was part of Paul E’s Dangerous Alliance, which disbanded a few months later.
Stone Cold won his first title, WCW World Television Championship, in 1991 after defeating Bobby Eaton. He defended the title for several months before losing it to Ricky Steamboat.
The talented wrestler formed a tag team known as The Hollywood Blonds with Brian Pillman in 1993. The tag team won the WCW Tag Team Championship.
Stone Cold later won the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship after turning heel on his partner Pillman.
Stone Cold Steve Austin wrestling career suffered a blow when WCW vice president Eric Bischoff fired him. According to Eric, Stone Cold was not a remarkable wrestler.
Nevertheless, Stone Cold didn’t give up on his wrestling career as he joined Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) in 1995.
Barely one year later, Stone Cold ditched ECW and joined WWF, making his debut in January 1996. He was awarded the Million Dollar Championship in his first match.
Austin stood started wrestling as The Ringmaster and won the King of the Ring match against Jake Roberts in 1996.
His promo, Austin 3:16, set the beginning of the Attitude Era, which made him the
Stone Cold began feuding with the Hart family in what would become one of the longest feuds in WWF/E history. He also feuded with Owen Hart before winning the Intercontinental Championship and the WWF Tag Team Championship.
Other legendary wrestlers Stone Cold feuded with were Triple H, The Rock and Vince McMahon. His last official match was against The Rock at Wrestlemania XIX.

Stone Cold would later announce his retirement from professional wrestling in 2003 and has since been making sporadic appearances.
