Kenya Police FC and Sofapaka continued with their winless start to the FKF Premier League campaign after playing to a 1-1 draw at the Kasarani Annex on Wednesday. Police are on a horrid run and have two points so far from back to back draws.
Sofapaka have drawn four of their six games so far this season.
But, pressure is more on Police, who are struggling for results despite having invested heavily in building up a squad at the start of the campaign. They are under new coach Francis Baraza, who has overseen back to back draws.
The experienced Baraza who has worked in Tanzania with top clubs Biashara United and Kagera Sugar says he is confident he will turn around the fortunes of the side.

“I know we have not started well, but the good thing is that the season has just started. There is still so much to play for and so far I am learning my team and learning my players. In a matter of time, I know we will improve,” said the tactician.
“We have a good squad with young players who are hungry to play and we have a small break before the next match which I know we will be better and in a good position to win,” the coach added.
His opposite number David Ouma is also confident his side will come good despite the gremlins of four wins in six matches. “The good thing is we have shown improvement from last season. I know we are not winning but also at the same time, we are playing well. We just need to improve on our scoring and we will be good to go.”
In the tie, a late kick off at the Annex, the two sides had chances, but goals opened in the second half. Sofapaka had to come froma goal down, Rody Manga scoring the equalizer with 14 minutes to play after Elvis Rupia’s opener.

After a barren first half, the goals opened up in the second period. Rupia broke the deadlock three minutes after the restart when he headed home from a Duke Abuya corner.
In the 52nd minute Lesley Kipkurui almost produced the second goal when he laid in a cross from the right but Abuya’s connection was over.
He came close to scoring himself five minutes later when he took a shot on the turn inside the box, but Mathias Kigonya in the Sofapaka goal produced a full stretched save to keep the scores at 1-0.
Seeking a goal to turn the game in their favour, Sofapaka made changes in midfield With Kevin Okoth and Geoffrey Ojunga coming on for Roy Okal and Davis Kasirye.
The changes brought some stability and that led them to the equalizer in the 76th minute, Manga sighting the keeper a yard off his line and looping a header beyond him from a cross.
