- Gor Mahia have now won three out of their four matches

Gor Mahia bounced back to winning ways on Wednesday when they beat Bandari FC by a solitary goal, picking up their third win in four matches to move two points behind leaders Tusker FC.
K’Ogalo bounced back having drawn their last match 1-1 against Kariobangi Sharks and coach Jonathan McKinstry said he was delighted to see his side win, though it was not the best of matches.
“We played on Sunday under very hot conditions and then coming back here on Wednesday in almost similar conditions was always going to be tough for the players. We saw it especially in the second half, but what I liked is the spirit and determination to grind out a result,” said the tactician.
He added; “We didn’t really play well but we got something from the match and that is how football is sometimes. Against Sharks we had the best game so far this season but we only got off with a point.”
Omalla in good scoring form for Gor

Benson Omalla continued his good form, scoring the fourth goal for Gor in as many matches with the solitary strike that won them the game against Bandari. Gor got into a ninth minute lead, when Omalla finished off like a predator, much thanks to a goalkeeping howler from Michael Wanyika.
The keeper punched Austin Odhiambo’s cross into the area and Joshua Onyango picked. His effort at goal was blocked and the ball rolled to Omalla.
Bandari took time to settle but when they eventually did, they caused Gor some trouble. In the 32nd minute, Chris Ochieng broke through on goal, but his effort at curling the ball to the far right was awry, keeper Gad Mathews making a comfortable save one on one.
Just a minute later, they had another chance when Keegan Ndemi picked the ball from distance and went for a shot from range, but Mathews made another save, turning the ball behind for a corner.
At the start of the second half, Bandari’s Anthony Kimani also rung changes, bringing off Ochieng and Douglas Mokaya for a firmer strike force of Abdallah Hassan and Felix Ochieng.
Bandari pumped in the pressure, but couldn’t get a way back. They had half chances, Ochieng shooting wide from close range after a cutback from William Wadri while Keegan also had another rasping long ranger sailing inches wide.

Meanwhile in the other match played on Wednesday, Ulinzi Stars FC showed their class with a brilliant display against Talanta, thrashing them 3-0 . Hillary Simiyu and Enosh Ochieng gave them a 2-0 halftime lead before Bernard Ongoma completed the job for the soldiers in the second half.
They went ahead after 19 minutes when Simiyu scored from the spot after defender Shela Mandela had handled inside the box.
They had a second appeal for a penalty in the 37th minute when Boniface Muchiri was tripped inside the box after he stole a yard of space ahead of his marker, but the referee waved play on.
However, they doubled their lead less than 60 seconds later when Enosh picked the ball from distance and went for a shot, catching the keeper in slumberland.
The soldiers put the game to bed just eight minutes after the restart when skipper Ongoma headed home from close range.
With the result, Ulinzi rose to sixth in the standings with eight points after eight matches while Talanta are 13th with just a single victory in four matches.
