Warriors Defeat Edinburgh

Edinburgh needed to win against Glasgow Warriors considering they had lost four games in a row before. However, the Warriors were not letting them win as they began to show dominance from the start.

Glasgow toiled for the first 40 as Sione Tuipulotu was immense all night. He gave the visitors a good field position with a big line break.

Captain Steyn’s footwork proved to be too much for the Edinburgh defence, who endured a rough night. Jordan converted to make it 7-0 for the visitors.

Edinburgh asserted their territorial and set piece supremacy as the half wore. Ritchie converted from a yard before skipper followed skipper in scoring.

Emiliano Boffeli converted two penalties to give the hosts the lead. The penalties were won at the scrum as WP Nel got the better of Jamie Bhatti.

Edinburgh went into the break in front after an exchange of maul-lead tries by Fagerson and Luke Crosbie.

Coming into the second half, the home team appeared to be strangely disconnected. On the contrary, Glasgow Warriors appeared stronger.

It didn’t take long before Edinburgh let the lead slip from them. The Warriors scored their third try of the night after around four proper attacks.

Cancelliere, Sione Vailanu and Richie Gray combined well down the right. The wing then put in Jordan for a score, making it 20-19.

Glasgow had the momentum, and with 13 minutes left, Marshall Sykes gave away a penalty. Horne easily converted to shift the lead to their side.

Horne then made a ruthless finish a few minutes later before converting another penalty. Harrison made a beautiful run on the right, then converted. However, it was not enough, as Glasgow emerged victorious.

Speaking after the game, Edinburgh head coach Mike Blair said that the second-half performance was disappointing.

“It was really disappointing to see what happened in the second half. Glasgow got on top from a physicality point of view, and we struggled. The tightness of the league means that if you do get on a run, you’re back in the play-off positions. We need to keep that belief. This has been a tough period for us – lots of guys have played five games on the bounce. We’ll have to look at freshening things up.” Mike Blair said, as per BBC Sports
