  • Moukoko’s contract at Borussia Dortmund is set to expire at the end of the campaign
  • Arsenal have also stepped up their interest for Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhaylo Mudryk

Chelsea has stepped up their interest in Borussia Dortmund and Germany starlet Youssoufa Moukoko.

At the end of the current campaign, the brilliant 18-year-old’s current contract expires, and 90min earlier reported that a number of Premier League teams were growing more confident that Moukoko was willing to leave Dortmund.

Chelsea is among Moukoko’s admirers, and sources now indicate that the Blues have increased their interest in the German international following their unsuccessful pursuit of Endrick of Palmeiras, who is moving to Real Madrid.

Chelsea has made contact with the player’s representation in an effort to negotiate a lower price for the adolescent talent, who has been regarded as a potential future superstar and has six goals and four assists in 14 Bundesliga games this season.

Moukoko is still a target for Manchester United and Liverpool, and certain parties engaged in the transfer have notified Arsenal and Tottenham that the player wants to leave Dortmund in 2023.

SportsLeo understands that Barcelona, which sees this as an opportunity to snag a potential cornerstone of their future at a sizable discount, could pose the biggest challenge to Chelsea’s pursuit of Moukoko.

Dortmund officials are making a strong effort to beat Chelsea to Moukoko’s business, but Chelsea has not lost up on keeping him on staff.

In an effort to persuade the adolescent that he will likely keep his spot in the German national team if he stays, Moukoko has played more frequently this season for Dortmund’s first team as proof of the German club’s dedication to his development.

Moukoko, who accompanied Hansi Flick’s team to the World Cup, played just one minute at the conclusion of the opening match and is not yet guaranteed a spot on the team. Dortmund hopes to persuade the adolescent to remain and advance his chances of playing for his country at Signal Iduna Park.

Chelsea wants to bring Moukoko to London as part of its strategy to recruit the best young players in the league. Their first aim had been Endrick, but now that he is moving to Real Madrid, attention is shifting to Moukoko.

Across the city from Chelsea, Arsenal and Shakhtar Donetsk have discussed winger Mykhaylo Mudryk.

The 21-year-old forward is currently one of the most sought-after players in Europe, and Shakhtar are willing to part with their prized possession, but only for the right price.

Shakhtar have made it known that they are requesting €100 million for Mudryk, using Manchester City’s purchase of Jack Grealish as a benchmark.

After failing to sign Raphinha in the summer, the Gunners have set their sights on a new forward in the January transfer window. A fresh attacker is starting to take precedence over a midfielder or a defender for them.

The club management has also talked about Moussa Diaby, Christian Pulisic, and Joao Felix, but Mudryk is the player they aim for.
