Every World Cup Golden Boot winner since 1930

• The FIFA Golden Boot is the award presented to the top scorers at the end of every World Cup tournament. 
• The latest winner of the prestigious individual award is Harry Kane. The England international scored six goals at the 2018 World Cup. 
• Gerd Muller, Sandor Kocsis and Just Fontaine are the only players who have scored double figures at a World Cup tournament. 

The FIFA Golden Boot is the award presented or given to the top scorers at the end of every World Cup tournament. 

If two or more players finish as top goal scorers at a World Cup tournament, a tie-breaker goes to the player who has played the least amount of time.  

The countries which have produced the most FIFA Golden Boot winners are Germany and Brazil. 

Gerd Muller, Sandor Kocsis and Just Fontaine are the only players who have scored double figures at a World Cup tournament. 

We have had several winners of the prestigious individual award since 1930, when the first World Cup tournament was played. 

World Cup Golden Boot Winners 

2018 – Harry Kane 

Harry Kane is the latest winner of the FIFA Golden Boot. The England international won the individual award at the 2018 World Cup after scoring six goals.

2014 – James Rodriguez 

James Rodriguez won the World Cup Golden Boot in 2014 after scoring six goals for Colombia. Real Madrid signed him at the end of the tournament due to his impressive performance. 

2010 – Thomas Muller

Thomas Muller was a youngster during the 2010 World Cup. He scored five goals as his side reached the last four in the tournament. 

2006 – Miroslav Klose 

Miroslav Klose, one of German’s greatest attackers of all time, was the top scorer at the 2006 World Cup with five goals. 

2002 – Ronaldo Luis Nazario de Lima 

Ronaldo Nazario scored eight goals in the 2002 World Cup. His eight goals played a significant role as Brazil won the tournament.

1998 – Davor Suker 

Davor Suker emerged as the top scorer of the 1998 World Cup with six goals. 

1994 – Oleg Salenko and Hristo Stoichkov 

Oleg Salenko of Russia and Hristo Stoichkov of Bulgaria scored six goals each at the 1994 World Cup to emerge as the top scorers. 

1990 – Salvatore Schillaci 

Italy were the hosts of the 1990 FIFA World Cup. Salvatore Schillaci took advantage of the home support to score six goals and emerge as the top scorer. 

1986 – Gary Lineker 

Gary Lineker scored six goals for England and won the Golden Boot at the 1986 World Cup played in Mexico.

1982 – Paolo Rossi – Italy 

Spain hosted the 1982 World Cup. Paolo Rossi of Italy worked out of the tournament as the top scorer with six goals. 

1978 – Mario Kempes 

Mario Kempes won the FIFA Golden Boot in 1978 after scoring six goals for Argentina. 

1974 – Grzegorz Lato 

Grzegorz Lato scored seven goals for Poland to emerge as the top scorer at the 1974 World Cup played in West Germany. 

1970 – Gerd Muller 

Gerd Muller is one of the few players who have scored double digits at a World Cup. The German international scored ten goals during the 1970 World Cup.

1966 – Eusebio 

Eusebio scored six goals for Portugal at the 1966 World Cup in England. 

1962 – Florian Albert, Valentin Ivanov, Garrincha, Vava, Drazan Jerkovic and Leonel Sanchez 

Florian Albert of Hungary, Valentin Ivanov of Soviet Russia, Garrincha and Vava of Brazil, Drazan Jerkovic of Yugoslavia Croatia and Leonel Sanchez were all top scorers of the 1962 World Cup. They scored four goals each in the tournament hosted by Chile. 

1958 – Just Fontaine 

Just Fontaine is the player with the most goals at a single World Cup. The legendary France attacker scored 13 goals at the 1958 World Cup in Sweden. 

1954 – Sandor Kocsis

Sandor Kocsis scored 11 goals for Hungary at the 1954 World Cup in Switzerland. 

1950 – Ademir 

The Brazilian legend scored eight goals at the 1950 World Cup, which his country hosted. 

1938 – Leonidas 

Leonidas was the top scorer at the 1938 World Cup. He scored seven goals for his country, Brazil. 

1934 – Oldrich Nejedly 

Oldrich Nejedly finished the 1934 FIFA World Cup in Italy as a Golden Boot award winner with five goals. 

1930 – Guillermo Stabile 

Guillermo Stabile is in the history books as the first player to finish as a top scorer in World Cup. The Uruguayan forward scored eight goals as his nation won the first World Cup tournament.
