The 2022 FIFA World Cup has some of the best managers in the world. And all of them are trying to help the countries they coach to perform well. 

France manager Didier Deschamps is the only manager in Qatar to have ever won the World Cup. Let’s find out where he ranks in the list of the highest-paid managers at the 2022 World Cup. 

1. Hans-Dieter Flick – $6.55 Million

Hans-Dieter Flick is the highest-paid manager at the World Cup in Qatar. The former Bayern Munich boss is currently managing the German national team. 

Hansi Flick was the assistant manager of Germany when they won the FIFA World Cup in 2014. He is looking forward to leading the team to another world title this year. 

However, his side is already in trouble after suffering a 2-1 loss to Japan in their first match of the campaign. 

2. Gareth Southgate – $5.85 Million 

Gareth Southgate is a popular name with football fans, especially those who support English Premier League teams. 

Southgate has been managing the England national team since 2016 and is paid an annual salary of $5.85 million. 

The former footballer has guided England to impressive results in recent years, and the only thing he lacks is a trophy. 

3. Didier Deschamps – $3.85 Million 

Didier Deschamps is the man who guided France to win the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. With an annual salary of $3.85 million, he is one of the highest-paid managers in Qatar

The 54-year-old has a squad that could defend the title despite several big names like Karim Benzema, Paul Pogba and N’golo Kante missing. 

4. Tite – $3.65 Million

Tite is the manager of the Brazilian national team. He earns an annual salary of $3.65 million. 

Tite helped Brazil regain its former stature in international football after the horrific exit from the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

He guided the team to win the 2019 Copa America, and his aim is now the World Cup trophy in Qatar. 

5. Louis van Gaal – $2.95 Million 

Apart from being the oldest manager at this World Cup, Louis van Gaal is also among the highest-paid. The Dutch boss earns an annual salary of $2.95 million. 

He was the manager of the Netherlands team that finished third during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. 

6. Gerardo Martino – $2.95 Million 

Gerardo Martino will try to lead Mexico to their best finish ever at a World Cup campaign. He joined the Mexican national team in 2019 and has so far done a good job. The legendary manager earns $2.95 million in coaching Mexico. 

Martino previously managed big teams like FC Barcelona and Argentina. 

7. Lionel Scolani – $2.65 Million 

Lionel Scolani has totally revitalized Argentina national team during his time as the manager. He recently guided the team to win the Copa America trophy in 2021. 

With an annual salary of $2.65 million, Scolani is one of the highest-paid managers at the 2022 World Cup. 

8. Felix Sanchez Bas – $2.45 Million 

Felix Sanchez is the head coach of Qatar. He has done a good job for the Qatari side since taking over, including helping them win the AFC Asia Cup 2019. 

Sanchez earns an annual salary of $2.45 million. 

9. Fernando Santos – $2.25 Million 

Fernando Santos is the man managing the Portugal national team. His side has big names such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandez, Ruben Dias and Bernado Silva.

10. Murat Yakin – $1.65 Million 

Murat Yakin is the head coach of the Switzerland national football team. The Swiss tactician assumed his role in 2021 after the Euros 2020. 

Murat Yakin previously managed teams in Switzerland, including FC Basel, Luzern, Grasshoppers and Sion. 

The 48-year-old has been impressive in his role as the head coach of Switzerland and will be looking forward to justifying his huge salary during this World Cup. 

Murat Yakin is one of the highest-paid managers at the 2022 World Cup, with an annual salary of $1.65 million.
