  • Chelsea and N’Golo Kante are still far away from agreeing a new contract as current deal nears expiration
  • Marco Asensio could leave Real Madrid in January and Newcastle United could be his next destination

La Liga giants Barcelona are set to offer a new contract to winger Ousmane Dembele but will warn the Frenchman that he will be made available for transfer if he declines or tries to delay committing his future to the club once again.

Premier League side Manchester United are tracking Club Brugge goalkeeper Simon Mignolet, who has a past experience in the Premier League having in the past being the number one at Liverpool before the arrival of Alisson Becker.

Still in England, no agreement has been reached between N’Golo Kante and Chelsea over a new contract and as reported by football journalist Fabrizio Romano, there are fears that the France midfielder could leave Stamford Bridge as a free agent when his current deal expires in the summer.

Liverpool are on the lookout to strengthen their midfield position and manager Jurgen Klopp has asked scouts to look at Benfica midfielder Florentino Luis and the Reds would be prepared to pay his £104m release clause to get a deal for the 23-year-old done, Liverpool has faced a lot of injury setbacks in midfield this season affecting their general performance.

The new Chelsea head coach Graham Potter has asked the Blues to sign a new striker in January and has named Lille’s Jonathan David among his preferred targets.

Juventus are prepared to sell United States star Weston McKennie in January, with North London side Tottenham understood to be interested in signing the 24-year-old midfielder.

To replace McKennie, Juventus are looking at Atletico Madrid’s Rodrigo De Paul, who is expected to be made available for transfer.

Tottenham are the only club that have a chance of signing Nicolo Zaniolo from Roma. Zaniolo wants to work under director Fabio Paratici and would not be interested in a move to fellow suitors Arsenal, that is according to Di Marzio.

The agent of Paris Saint-Germain Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has refused to rule out a return to Serie A in the future.

AC Milan are prepared to compete with Man Utd and Real Madrid for the signature of PSV Eindhoven forward Cody Gakpo.

Bayern Munich are interested in striking a deal for Borussia Monchengladbach forward Marcus Thuram, whose contract ends in the summer of 2023.

Newcastle United have reportedly expressed their interest in signing out-of-favour Real Madrid midfielder Marco Asensio.

Asensio, 26, debuted for Madrid back in 2016, racking up 244 appearances and 50 goals across all club competitions in the seven seasons since.

However, despite tallying a career-high 10 LaLiga goals in the 2021-22 campaign, Asensio has been relegated to a bench role this season – with Vinicius Jr and Federico Valverde getting the nod on either sides of Karim Benzema, Asensio will be a free agent next year if he is not offered a new contract.

With Asensio in the last year of his contract, Milan have been the team most closely linked with the Spanish international, until Calciomercato added that Newcastle have thrown their hat into the ring.

Despite soon being available on a free transfer, Asensio’s contract demands will likely rule out a number of high-profile interested parties, but with Newcastle’s new spending power and their inability to land some key targets, he should be well within their financial capabilities.

Asensio is tipped to represent Spain at the World Cup, with a report from AS claiming he hopes to earn a new Madrid contract with some impressive performances.
