Chelsea manager Graham Potter is keen on reuniting with Brighton forward Leandro Trossard at Stamford Bridge, while the Seagulls’ former sporting director Dan Ashworth also wants to bring the Belgian to Newcastle, 90min reported this week.

Leandro Trossard has a contract at Brighton running until the summer 2024, and while the club want to tie him down to a new deal, he isn’t short of suitors after his impressive show at the Amex.

Potter, the Chelsea boss who utilised Trossard in a number of different roles during his time at the helm in Brighton, wants to bring the versatile winger to Stamford Bridge having previously signed him from Genk in 2019.

However, SkySports reported that Brighton’s former sporting director Ashworth, now in charge at Newcastle United, is also taking a keen interest in how contract talks on the south coast are progressing.

Newcastle  are working hard on future targets, but Ashworth is already fully aware of Trossard’s talent, and the fact he could be available for a cut-price deal is a big appeal.

Trossard is enjoying an impressive campaign for the Seagulls with five goals and an assist to his name already – including a hat trick against Liverpool at Anfield, following on from last term when he scored eight times with three further assists. He is set to head to this winter’s World Cup with Belgium, too.

Brighton recognize the progress that has been made by Trossard since he joined and they are desperate to tie him to a more lucrative contract.

It has also been reported that the offer on the table from Brighton would make Trossard the club’s highest paid player, putting him ahead of the likes of Lewis Dunk, Danny Welbeck and Adam Lallana.

As well as interest from the Premier League, reports also indicate that there is major interest in Trossard from both La Liga and Serie A. Atletico Madrid and AC Milan have both watched him this season.

Across to London, Harry Kane’s future at Tottenham is at a curious stage, having become more settled during Antonio Conte’s tenure.

Kane has scored 10 goals in all competitions this term, including nine in the Premier League with Spurs starting strongly to sit third just four points adrift the top team.

The England international had pushed to move to Manchester City in mid-2021 but ultimately was convinced to stay.

Tottenham are eager to commence talks with Harry Kane on a new deal, but the England forward is holding off, claims Football Insider.

Antonio Conte’s future at Spurs is a factor for Kane, with the Italian out of contract at the end of this season, although it is highly expected the Italian manager will extend his contract.

Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have been linked with Kane who signed a six-year deal with Spurs in June 2018, tying him down until 2024.
