Following Manchester United vs Chelsea match on Saturday, Bruno Fernandes has spoken about Cristiano Ronaldo and his time at Old Trafford.

On October 19 at Old Trafford, the seasoned Portuguese forward entered the coaching booth during his team’s victory over Tottenham Hotspur. Since then, it has been revealed that he declined to enter the game as a substitute and even departed the stadium without saying goodbye to his teammates.

Because of Ronaldo’s antics, United Manager Erik ten Hag dropped him from the starting lineup for the match against Chelsea.

Fernandes told Sky Sports that they keep their issues within the changing room and focus on what matters, which is winning.

“Now we don’t talk about that, we keep it inside. We have to deal with that inside. And no one else has to know what we think what we want or what will go on going to happen because also us – we don’t know. So the most important thing for everyone, including Cristiano, is that the team wins and I’m pretty sure of that,” said Fernandes.

The encounter between Manchester United and Chelsea on Saturday ended in a tight tactical draw. They squandered a number of opportunities in the opening period and let the game slip away from them.

Late in ordinary time, Jorginho’s penalty gave Chelsea the lead, but Casemiro’s header tied the score in the penultimate minute of extra time. Manchester United has a strong record this season against the other ‘Big 6’ Premier League teams. Of their five important games, they have won three, tied one, and lost one.

Fernandes admitted that it was a tight match, and they could have scored at least two goals, but the draw still counts for something.

The only loss for the Red Devils came at the hands of Manchester City at the Etihad. They have defeated Liverpool, Arsenal, and Spurs. Fernandes emphasised the need to play with more intensity, adding:

Ronaldo sparked a debate following his exit at Old Trafford Wednesday evening as his teammates played Tottenham again.

When Spurs visited Old Trafford, United trounced them, and the Portuguese forward made a miserable sight sitting on the bench. He isn’t used to being a substitute, and it may have caused the veteran forward to act in this way.

In the 90th minute (with four minutes of added time), a visibly agitated Ronaldo walked down the tunnel, leaving spectators and analysts perplexed by his actions.

According to reports, he fled the stadium after exiting the tunnel rather than waiting for the squad in the locker room.

This season, Erik ten Hag has mainly used the Manchester United front as a substitute, which has frequently infuriated the forward. He was replaced in the 72nd minute against Newcastle United only last week. Ronaldo shook his head in disapproval and stomped off the field in frustration.

In his decision, Hag said it was in the club’s best interest for Ronaldo to sit out on Saturday’s match.
