WWE referee Aja Smith married Leon Ruff after being engaged for more than a year. Leon Ruff previously worked for WWE at SmackDown, Raw, NXT and Main Event.
Aja shared photos of her husband on Twitter with a caption notifying the public she is now his wife.
Aja Smith and Leon Ruff tied the knots earlier this week. WWE referee Aja Smith and his newly-wedded husband had been engaged for more than a year.
Aja shared a photo on Twitter of her groom smiling with cakes smeared on their faces. The WWE’s referee wrote a caption which shows her happiness after marrying Leon Ruff.

“I married my soulmate in the rain today. The best night of my life. I’m a whole wife, y’all.”
Several WWE personalities have sent their congratulatory messages to the newly married couples. Samantha Irvin, Adam Pearce, Eddie Orengo and TJ Wilson are among WWE personalities who congratulated the duo.
Aja Smith is the first-ever African-American full-time referee at WWE. The 28-year-old was a professional wrestler before becoming a referee. She previously won the Women’s Championship.
WWE referee Aja Smith also won the SHINE Nova Championship and SHINE Tag Team Championship titles during her days as an in-ring wrestler.
Aja’s professional wrestling career was between October 2013 and January 2020. During that period, she wrestled for two promotions, WSU and Evolve.
WWE appointed Smith as a referee in February 2020, and she has since been in charge of matches at NXT, Raw and SmackDown.

WWE referee Aja Smith officiated several matches involving her husband. Leon Ruff is best known for his time in WWE, where he performed at NXT.
Leon made his professional wrestling debut in June 2018 at Evolve. She partnered with Tommy Maserati in the tag team match, which they lost to Adrian Alanis and Liam Gray.
Leon Ruff, alongside A.R. Fox, won the Evolve Tag Team Championship in July 2019 after defeating The Unwanted (Joe Gracy and Eddie Kingston).
However, their reign as tag team champions lasted for 147 days as they lost the title to The Besties in the World (Davey Vega and Mat Fitchett) on December 7, 2019.
Ruff began making appearances for WWE in late December 2019. The American international made appearances as a local competitor on several WWE television programs. He featured at NXT, Raw, Mani Event, 2015 Live and SmackDown.
Leon won the NXT North American Championship in November 2020 after defeating Johnny Gargano. He lost the title to Johnny 25 days later at NXT TakeOver: WarGames.

Ruff later teamed with Kushinda and began feuding with other tag teams. The superstar made his last appearance as a WWE wrestler on August 6 2021, with a win over Grayson Waller on 205 Live. WWE released Leon Ruff from his contract the same night.
Leon later joined GCW, where he won in a 5-Way Scramble Match on his debut. He joined All Elite Wrestling in May, where he has been making televised appearances.
