Murray said his game is getting better, adding his delight in the fact that he came so close to beating the finalist from the previous year’s Wimbledon tournament.

NAOMI OSAKA LOST TO DANIELLE COLLINS

Naomi Osaka’s comeback attempt at the 2022 US Open hit a snag in the first round by a loss to Danielle Collins in straight sets. It was the most intriguing U.S Open 2022 week 1 match.

The 27-year-old American won the match against Osaka 7-6, 6-3, despite losing all three sets in their previous meetings. The late match at Arthur Ashe Stadium didn’t begin until 11 p.m. and went on until nearly 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

Liudmila Samsonova eliminated Leylah Fernandez from the US Open in the second round with a 6-3, 7-6 (3) victory.

After missing most of the summer due to a stress fracture in her right foot, Fernandez had hoped to make a good run. It didn’t happen, despite playing in the Grand Slam finals in 2021 with Emma Raducanu.

With the final Grand Slam tournament of the year upon us, speculations about the 2022 US Open prize pool flooded the internet.

The US Open will award $60 million in prizes to answer it. The 2021 event prize of USD 57.5 million was the largest of the four Grand Slams; therefore, this amount is significantly higher.
