  • Marcus Rashford has been voted September’s player of the month. The Manchester United forward played a significant role as his team won against Arsenal and Leicester City.
  • Eric ten Hag, on the other hand, is the manager of the month for September. The 52-year-old is the second Manchester United manager to win the award since Sir Alex Ferguson retired.

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford is the player of the month for September.

The 24-year-old was competing for the monthly award alongside Kevin De Bruyne of Manchester City, Philip Baling of Bournemouth, Pierre-Emile Hojberg of Tottenham Hotspurs, Everton’s Alex Iwobi and Aston Villa’s Jacob Ramsey.

Erling Haaland, who has been in glittering form since the start of this season, did not make it to the six-man shortlist. The Norwegian international won the Premier League player of the Month award for August.

Marcus Rashford was a significant player in Manchester United’s squad this month. The England international contributed to Jadon Sancho’s goal against Leicester City by providing the assist.

He later played a massive role in Manchester United’s stunning victory over Arsenal at Old Trafford. Marcus Rashford gave the assist to Antony’s goal before scoring two goals to seal a memorable 3-1 win.

Rashford had also found the back of the net in Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Liverpool at the end of August.

The Manchester United attacker has won the Premier League Player of the Month for the first time since January 2019. And due to his good form, it won’t be wrong to say that he might grab another one soon.

The decision by Eric ten Hag to play Rashford as a centre-forward has turned out positive for the Dutch manager.

Eric ten Hag wins Manager of the Month

Whereas Marcus Rashford was September’s player of the month, his manager at Manchester United, Erik ten Hag, won the Manager of the Month award.

Ten Hag beat Antonio Conte of Tottenham Hotspurs and Bournemouth’s caretaker boss Gary O’Neill to win the monthly award.

Ten Hag is the second Manchester United manager to be Premier League’s manager of the month since Sir Alex Ferguson retired. Ole Gunnar won the monthly award in January 2019.

Erik ten Hag joined Manchester United from Ajax at the end of last season. He helped the Red Devils secure victories during the pre-season games.

But things didn’t work out for him in his first two competitive games for Manchester United. Fingers pointed towards him as the Red Devils lost 2-1 to Brighton and 4-0 to Brentford.

However, the Dutchman received praise when Manchester United defeated Liverpool at Old Trafford on matchday three.

Ten Hag later guided Manchester United to a 1-0 win over Leicester City before the massive victory over Arsenal. The Gunners had not lost a single game this season before facing Manchester United on September 4.

Eric ten Hag has a difficult task ahead this weekend as Manchester United will be travelling to the Etihad Stadium to face Manchester City.

The Dutch manager will be without his key forward, Marcus Rashford, who won the Premier League Player of the Month for September.
