The fight between Katie Taylor and Amando Serrano made headlines in the world-famous venues as it lived up to the expectation of boxing fans.
Katie Taylor nearly lost the fight in the middle rounds but pulled a stunning show in the last rounds to emerge victorious. She successfully managed to defend her titles after a split decision.
Katie Taylor and Amando Serrano expressed their interest in a rematch during the post-fight interview, and plans were already underway to see that the two meet again in the ring.
According to reports, Katie Taylor and Amando Serrano were to face each other at Croke Park. However, the plans are on hold as both fighters face different opponents in the coming days.
Amando Serrano will be facing Denmark’s Sarah Mahfoud in a featherweight title fight in Manchester on Saturday. Serrano is the unified featherweight world champion, having held the WBO title since 2019 and the IBO and WBC titles since 2021.
The Puerto Rican is the only female to win world titles in more than four weight classes. Amando Serrano holds the Guinness World Record for the most boxing world championships won in different weight classes by a woman. Well, she has held nine major world titles in different weight classes.
On the other hand, undisputed lightweight champion Katie Taylor will be looking forward to writing a further chapter in what is already a historic career. However, it will not be an easy win for her since she is facing a fighter who believes in herself – Elizabeth Carbajal.

Elizabeth Carbajal’s bout with Katie Taylor will be her first fight outside Argentina. With her pro boxing record of (19-0, 2 KOs), Elizabeth Carbajal will be out there to give Katie the challenge of her life.
During an interview, the Argentine international said that she is happy her hard work has paid off as she will be facing one of the best female boxers in the world.
However, the 32-year-old does not intend to let Katie win the match. She insists that all the belts will come back to Argentina with her.
“I was very happy when I received the offer to challenge Katie. The hard work has paid off. I’m not thinking for a second about giving Katie a win. All the belts will come back to Argentina with me.” Elizabeth Carbajal said.
Ex-WBA world welterweight champion Marcos Maidana is Carbajal’s promoter.
