In recent years, Rafael Nadal has had some of his most triumphant moments at the US Open, including winning the title in 2017 and 2019, as well as making it to the semi-finals in 2018.
This summer, he will be aiming to win to extend a 23rd major title and may have the opportunity to get back to the top spot in the global rankings if he is successful.
Even though he suffered a defeat in his first match back following an abdominal injury at the Western and Southern Open, he is optimistic that additional time spent practising would lead to advancements in his game.
Venus Williams
If Venus follows in her younger sister Serena’s footsteps and decides to retire, there may be two retirement announcements to make in New York.
Venus, who is now 42 years old and began her career as a professional tennis player in 1994, one year before Serena, just competed in her first singles match at the Citi Open in Washington, DC.
A wild card has been awarded to Venus for the US Open, even though her most recent singles victory came at Wimbledon 2021.
Emma Raducanu
The winner of the US Open in 2021 will compete again the following year to defend her title. When she made it through qualification a year ago and won her maiden Grand Slam tournament without dropping a set, Raducanu astounded the whole tennis world.
In Cincinnati, Raducanu earned victories against Serena Williams and Victoria Azarenka but ultimately fell short against Jessica Pegula. These results offer cause for optimism regarding Raducanu’s current form.

Williams has said that the US Open will be her final professional tournament.
The Tennis star, who won her first singles match at the Canadian Open, will say her goodbyes in New York, where she has won six times.
Williams wants to expand her family and has plans to pursue her professional goals.

Naomi Osaka
Naomi Osaka, a two-time winner, hasn’t had the smoothest lead-up to the 2022 US Open.
In Toronto, she quit her first-round match against Kaia Kanepi due to a back issue, and in Cincinnati, she looked slow and eventually lost to Zhang Shuai.
Osaka won both the 2018 and 2020 US Open titles.

Gauff had to quit her first-round match in Cincinnati due to an ankle injury, and it seems unlikely that she will be able to compete in her home Grand Slam. If she makes it to play, she will likely feature in the doubles.
SIMONA HALEP
Halep pulled from the Cincinnati Open owing to a thigh injury, only days before her match with Veronika Kudermetova. This came after she had won her greatest championship in two years in Toronto.
The sixth-ranked player in the world is questionable for the season-ending Grand Slam.
Novak Djokovic
He may still play in the US Open.
Djokovic’s prospects of playing in New York got a late boost when the CDC relaxed social distancing and quarantine regulations.
Djokovic, The 21 grand slam champion, has been training with hopes of competing in the final Grand Slam.
Djokovic has won the tournament three times.
Roger Federer
Not only will Roger Federer not be back to the US Open this, but he hasn’t competed there since 2019.
Twenty-time Grand Slam winner Roger Federer has been out since Wimbledon 2021 due to third knee surgery. He is expected to return for the Laver Cup in September. From 2004 through 2008, he won the Slam every year.

Due to an injury sustained in Montreal, Gael Monfils will not be competing in the US Open.
The French man is a former semifinalist of the tournament

Andy Murray

When Andy Murray won his first major trophy at the 2012 US Open by defeating Novak Djokovic in the championship match, it was a watershed moment in his career.
Since then, Murray has not returned to the tournament’s championship event, and in his most recent three outings there, he has only won two of his matches.
At Wimbledon, Murray expressed his desire to be seeded for the US Open in order to avoid being placed in another difficult draw.
ALEXANDER ZVEREV
In his semi-final match against Rafael Nadal at the French Open, Zverev tore ankle ligaments and had to leave the court in a wheelchair.
Although he has stated he could be fit in time for the tournament, it appears unlikely that he would return for the US Open,
