Top five biggest moves this summer transfer window

  • With only two days left before the summer transfer window closes, most clubs have either signed their top targets or are in the final stages of doing so.
  • We could still see some big moves taking place before September 1, when the transfer window closes.
  • Antony to Manchester United is the biggest move this 2022-23 summer transfer window. The Brazilian joined the Red Devils for 100 million euros.

The summer transfer window will close in the next 48 hours. The biggest moves this summer have been done by Premier League teams.

Most of the teams have signed their top targets this summer, while the remaining ones are in the final stages of doing so. There still could be big transfers taking place before September 1.

However, it is unlikely that the transfers that will take place in the next hours will dethrone the biggest moves that have already been completed.

Here, we will discuss the top five biggest moves this summer transfer window.

1. Antony (Ajax to Manchester United) –100 million

Antony is the latest player to join Manchester United this summer transfer window. The Brazilian international joined the Red Devils from Ajax for around 100 million euros.

Antony to Manchester United is arguably the biggest move this summer. The talented winger is expected to play a huge role in strengthening Manchester United’s attack.

Antony is yet to make an appearance for the Red Devils. However, he will be one of the key players in Eric ten Hag’s squad. The 22-year-old will primarily play in the left wing position.

2. Aurelien Tchouameni (Monaco to Real Madrid) 80 million

Aurelien Tchouameni impressed last season while playing for Monaco. The Frenchman wowed football fans with his defending, composure and passing range.

Real Madrid splashed 80 million euros on the youngster at the start of this summer transfer window. Tchouameni’s move to the defending La Liga champions is one of the biggest moves this summer.

Many football fans thought that Real Madrid signing Tchouameni was an exorbitant expense. However, with the departure of Casemiro to Manchester United, the Frenchman is Real Madrid’s main defensive midfielder.

Aurelien Tchouameni has the responsibility of filling the gap left behind by Casemiro. The youngster has already featured in four games for Real Madrid this season, impressing the fans with his performance.

3. Darwin Nunez (SL Benfica to Liverpool) 75 million

Liverpool have won just one match since the start of the 2022-23 season. However, their 9-0 win over Bournemouth is a message to Premier League teams that they are still one of the best teams in the league.

Liverpool spent 75 million euros on Darwin Nunez, who joined the Meyerside club at the start of this summer. Darwin Nunez’s transfer is one of the biggest moves this summer.

The former Benfica man scored in his Premier League debut during the 2-2 draw with Fulham. However, the referee sent him off in his Anfield debut during Liverpool’s 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace.

Nunez could feature in Klopp’s squad this coming weekend when the Red face Everton

4. Casemiro (Real Madrid to Manchester United) 70.65 million

Casemiro established himself as one of the best defensive midfielders during his time with Real Madrid. His transfer to Manchester United is one of the transfers football fans didn’t expect to happen.

Manchester United have been craving a top defensive midfielder for several seasons. And now they have Casemiro – a true icon in the position.

Casemiro’s transfer to the Premier League giants is one of the biggest moves this summer. The Red Devils paid 70.65 million euros to sign Casemiro. The former Real Madrid man made his debut in the Premier League last weekend, coming on as a substitute in the second half.

5. Alexander Isak (Real Sociedad to Newcastle United) 70 million

Newcastle United surprised many football fans when they signed Alexander Isak from Real Sociedad for 70 million euros. Isak’s transfer to Newcastle is one of the biggest moves this summer.

The attacker, valued at 30 million euros, is Newcastle United’s most expensive signing of all time. He is yet to make his debut in the Premier League this season. However, he will be a key player in Eddie Howe’s squad once he fits into the coach’s playing style.
