  • Cristiano Ronaldo was reportedly angered by United’s lack of signing and competitiveness and feels if he stays at the club he will not achieve his targets

It will not be a normal season for Cristiano Ronaldo as he prepares to feature with Manchester United in the UEFA Europa League this season.

Cristiano Ronaldo was reportedly angered by United’s lack of signing and competitiveness and feels if he stays at the club he will not achieve his targets,  one of which is playing in the Champions League where he is the leading top scorer in the tournament.

Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes on the other hand is overworking and selling the Portuguese international to different clubs at a frightening speed to beat the deadline transfer although he is yet to find a club that can meet his wage demands.

According to Corriere Dello Sport, Jorge Mendes has offered Cristiano Ronaldo to several clubs and in fact, seven European clubs in Champions League spots but have all declined to sign the aging striker.

Chelsea loaned out Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan after the Belgian failed to prove his abilities under Thomas Tuchel.

Bayern Munich was once an interested party, after selling legendary striker Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona in a controversial move that saw the club and the player trading words against such a move.

However, Having lost Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona and bringing in Sadio Mane from Liverpool the German-based club rejected calls to sign Ronaldo with the club deeming him too old to adapt to their system.

Cristiano Ronaldo might not get what he needs and staying at Man United presently looks like a perfect match he might miss the Champions League this season but he might play next season when his age would be also catching up with him.

Paris Saint Germain in France league immediately spurned the advances of Mendes as they declared their intention to move away from the “bling-bling era” – robbing neutrals of the chance of seeing Ronaldo and long-term rival Lionel Messi together.

AC Milan and Inter in Italy immediately turned Ronaldo down, despite the veteran being very keen on a move to Serie A. Inter had already signed Lukaku as their striker, while Milan’s project is built around younger players.

Finally, in Spain, Real Madrid had no intention of bringing Ronaldo back to Santiago Bernabeu. Cross-city rivals Atletico are the team who thought about Ronaldo the most, with manager Diego Simeone very much a fan of the striker. But lately, Alvaro Morata is on high gear to reclaim his spot at the starting IX which renders Ronaldo unacceptable in the Diego Simeone’s squad which harbors great talents.
