Speaking to reporters Ralf Rangnick explained how he proposed players such as Diaz and Dusan Vlahovic to the united board only to be turned down.
Man United cooked their goose last season’s winter transfer by failing to sign any player resulting to fall to seventh place.
Lisandro Martinez, Tyrell Malacia, and Christian Eriksen have arrived to bolster new boss Erik ten Hag’s squad, but they continue to search for a forward.
Ralf Rangnick could have stayed at Old Trafford in a consultancy role after his interim coach duties expired last season with Man United.
As the successor of Ole Gunnar Solskajaer who was sacked following poor performance, Rangnick took over and identified some brilliant players in the January transfer that he deemed could help the team going forward.
Manchester United under the tutelage of Ralf Rangnick finished sixth place recording their worst finish of the Premier League era.
Contrary to what many expected Ralf Rangnick terminated his contact with man united and headed to Austria to manage the national team squad.
The 63-year-old is a well-respected figure in football, in part thanks to his influence as a successful sporting director at RB Leipzig, and the original plan was to keep him on as a consultant, seemingly with input on scouting and transfer targets.
In the winter transfer, Ralf speaking to the media revealed that he told the United’s board of potential youngsters available on the market that the club can target to bring at Old Trafford.
“I spoke to the board and told them, ‘Shouldn’t we at least speak and analyze and find if we can at least get a player, on loan or a permanent deal?’
“In the end, the answer was no. The answer was no, maybe they didn’t want to do any winter [business]. It doesn’t matter, the answer was no.” Rangnick said in the press briefing.
Manchester United’s run to the last season’s games was heartbreaking. in February Manchester United spent in the fourth spot and hoped to finish among the Champions League contenders which is the top four but that could not happen.
Manchester United’s long search for a striker continues with midfielders and defenders in, Eriksen, Lisandro Martinez, and Tyrell Malacia already signed.
The Red Devils lost Edison Cavani on a free transfer and Mason Greenwood is still out due to a legal matter he was accused of by his girlfriend and remains suspended by the club.
Players Ralf Rangnick identified.
Luis Diaz
Luiz Diaz was long linked with Liverpool and credible sources revealed that Liverpool completed the move when Tottenham hotspurs threw themselves in the ring.

Dusan Vlahovic
Several teams had shown interest including Arsenal. Amidst the club’s interest, Juventus knew any delay could cost them the services of the Serbian international.
Juventus quickly moved with speed and signed the Fiorentina electric man for a fee rising to €70million.
Although signed to replace Cristiano Ronaldo who had rejoined Manchester United, Vlahovic did not meet that instead, he played an important role that saw Juventus finish in the top four of the Serie A league.
Vlahovic scored 9 goals in his 21 appearances for the Old lady.
This season the 22-year-old Serbian international looks set to take the tally high, he scored twice against Sassuolo in Juventu’s 3-0 win Serie A match.
Julian Alvarez
Manchester City announced a deal to sign the highly-rated Argentinian wonderkid at the end of the January transfer window.
He joined up with Pep Guardiola’s squad in the summer after spending the latter half of last season remaining on loan with River Plate, where he caught the eye and underlined his serious potential by scoring 6 goals in a Copa Libertadores match against Alianza Lima in May.
Alvarez made his competitive debut for City as a substitute in the Community Shield against Liverpool. He marked the occasion with a poacher’s finish in the 3-1 defeat.
