Chelsea is blessed with a young squad at its disposal. The club has exciting young figures from their academy that have proved beyond reasonable doubt that they deserve a spot in Chelsea’s starting IX.
In Thiago Silva and Cesar Azpilicueta Chelsea have one of the best-experienced defenders in the league. Thiago Silva has proved that age is not limiting to performance, at his age he has coped well with the intensity and strength of the premier League.

Goalkeeper: Gabriel Slonina
Chelsea bagged the services of Gabriel Slonina this season and is widely regarded as the most promising goalkeeper in the world.
With Edouard Mendy edging out Kepa Arrizabalanga last season as first-choice goalkeeper the 30-year-old has not been up to the task this season and this should worry the Senegalese as the season gets underway.
The teenager will be looking to impress Thomas Tuchel this season and it will be no surprise to witness what happened to Kepa, happening to Mendy with the arrival of promising Gabriel Slonina.
Right Back: Reece James
The England’s ace broke into the first team in the 2019/20 season after a brilliant loan at Wigan athletic. The Right Back has been a key player in Thomas Tuchel’s system.
Reece James’ consistency has likened him to Dani Alves with reportedly linked to Real Madrid.
Centre Back: Trevoh Chalobah
Trevoh Chalobah spent much of his time on loan as he tried to penetrate in Chelsea’s starting eleven which happened in the 2021/22 season.
Chalobah spent loans at Lorient, Ipswich Town and Huddersfield.

In his breakthrough season, Trevoh Chalobah scored in his debut and has since played 30 games in all competition campaigns as he looked to convince Thomas Tuchel of a permanent spot in the starting IX.
Centre Back: Levi Colwill
Levi Colwill has been compared to Joh Terry as he rose through the academy. Levi Colwill is a top-rated young defender tipped promising for English football.
Last season at Huddersfield, Levi Colwill kept 13 clean sheets in 29 Championship games he played and helped Huddersfield finish third in the second division.
Left Back: Ian Maatsen
Highly regarded at the club after switching from PSV in 2018, Maatsen featured in one game for Chelsea.
At Championship club Coventry City, where Maatsen spent his last season spell, he won the young player of the season.
The player joined Burnley this season and has since scored a goal against Huddersfield.
Central Midfielder: Billy Gilmour
Last season at Norwich City Billy Gilmour’s consistency in form dropped but that doesn’t shadow the exploits he has made so far, especially in the Premier League.
The midfielder produced Man of the Match performances in his first starts in the FA Cup, Premier League, Champions League, and the Euros.
He is only 21.
Central Midfielder: Conor Gallagher
Conor Gallagher was an exciting talent to watch at Crystal Palace. He was an engine that kept their midfield alive.
Gallagher was on loan at Crystal Palace and his performance improved drastically.
In his loan spell at Crystal Palace, Gallagher scored 8 goals and 5 assists in his name across all competitions and won the club’s Player of the year award.
Centre Midfielder: Carney Chukwuemeka
Carney Chukwuemeka had attracted interest from top European clubs. The clubs included; Borrusia Dortmund, AC Milan, and Barcelona.
But Chelsea pulled the £ 20 million transfer over the line this summer.
The midfielder might have to bide his time and wait for his chance, but he is widely regarded as one of the brightest talents in England and looks set for a very bright future at Stamford Bridge.
Right Wing: Kai Havertz
At Bayer Leverkusen he was electrifying, but though he hasn’t transmitted that in Premier League he is still a talent Chelsea is proud of having and is confident that he will translate that form soon.
At the German side club, Kai in 150 appearances scored 77 goals.

As Chelsea calls him a man of big matches, Kai Havertz gave Chelsea the winner goals for 2021 Champions League final and the club world cup cementing the stature.
Striker: Armando Broja
Tuchel hasn’t had much luck with center-forwards since joining Chelsea in 2021 but Broja is hoping to be the long-term solution to their problem.
He joined Southampton on a season-long loan deal ahead of 2021-22 and became the youngest player in Premier League history to score in each of his first four home starts.
The striker finished the season with nine goals in 38 appearances in all competitions and has been attracting interest from West Ham, Everton, Newcastle, and Leeds United.
But he looks set to remain at Stamford Bridge and could play a big role in 2022-23 following the departures of Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner.
Left Wing: Mason Mount
Mason mount broke into the first team in the 2019-20 season.
He has helped the team win the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup while picking up Chelsea’s Player of the Year award in both 2020-21 and 2021-22.
