Over the years, we have seen a lot of incredibly skilled Tennis players that have looked to dominate the game.
These athletes in their heyday looked untouchable at times, setting up winning runs that lasted weeks and months.
The recently concluded Wimbledon tournament saw World no 1 Iga Swiatek’s 37-match winning streak end eventually as she lost to Alize Cornet in the third round. Here is a look at the longest victory streaks in Men’s tennis history.
5. Pete Sampras – 39 matches

Pete Sampras is regarded as the most crucial male tennis player to come out of the United States and as one of the best to ever compete in the sport.
His strong serves earned him the nickname “Pistol Pete,” and he went on to win 14 Grand Slam championships. At the time, his seven victories at Wimbledon set a new record for most in the tournament’s history.
He was ranked No. 1 worldwide for a total of 283 weeks, which is the third-highest amount ever. In addition, he is now riding a winning streak of 39 games that began in 1994.
Sampras finished his career on a high note by winning the US Open. He prevailed in the championship match against Andre Agassi, a legendary opponent he had previously faced in his first Grand Slam championship match.

Federer is now in the third place on the list of players who have won the most Grand Slam titles after Novak Djokovic recently won his 21st Grand Slam at Wimbledon
The Swiss player has won a total of 20 Grand Slam titles during his career. The winning streak of 42 games that Roger Federer amassed in 2005 and 2006 came to an end.
A record eight times, the Swiss player has taken home the trophy at Wimbledon. In addition, Roger Federer has one victory at the French Open, five at the US Open, and six at the Australian Open.
He won both the US Open and Wimbledon for a record-tying five consecutive years, beginning in 2005 and ending in 2010.

Novak Djokovic is considered the best tennis player of all time, making him one of the top players of the contemporary period.
In his career, he has won 20 Grand Slam titles and has a chance to win his 21st title at the current Wimbledon tournament.
The 35-year-old winning streak began in 2010, and it continued until he was defeated by Roger Federer at the 2011 Roland Garros tournament.
As a result of his nine victories at the Australian Open, the Serb holds the record for the most titles ever won at the tournament. At this time, Djokovic has the third spot in the world according to the ATP rankings.
2. Guillermo Vilas – 46 matches
In the 1970s, Guillermo Vilas was considered one of the greatest tennis players of all time. The Argentinian tennis player has won multiple titles, including four Grand Slam tournaments.
On the clay courts, he was one of the most accomplished players of all time. Ilie Nastase’s victory in the championship match of the Raquette d’Or tournament brought an end to his unbeaten run of 46 games, which had been decided in a way that was deemed questionable.

Bjorn Borg, one of the finest players in the history of the sport, currently holds the record for the longest victory streak in men’s tennis, which presently stands at 73 matches.
The name Borg has been mentioned on this list before in connection with a separate winning streak.
However, his 53-game winning streak that began in 1977 and continued until he lost to Jimmy Connors in the final of the 1978 U.S. open is the longest that has ever been recorded.
Bjorn is the only player in history to have won three consecutive titles at Wimbledon and the French Open.
He set many records, some of which have since been surpassed, but many continue to stand, including the record for the longest winning streak.
