Nottingham close to signing Lingard | Westham waiting for his decision

  • According to sources, Nottingham Forest is currently in advanced talks to sign Lingard
  • West Ham, on the other hand, has held discussions with the player and is waiting for his decision
  • It appears Westham is reluctant to pay Lingard the exact amount he received at United

Nottingham Forest is in serious talks with former Manchester United’s Jesse Lingard as they compete with West Ham United for the right to sign the free agent midfielder.

Jesse Lingard is rumoured to have a growing suspicion that he will choose West Ham over Forest as his next club; Westham also proposed and is waiting for a decision.

It appears that Lingard has other offers as well, both from within the Premier League and outside of it, and is anticipated to decide soon regarding where he goes next.

Even though West Ham has engaged in lengthy negotiations with Lingard, they risk losing him to their rivals at the City Ground.

Lingard and Forest have engaged in fruitful conversation, and it is said that Forest has made an incredibly generous offer to Lingard.

The 29-year-old player, who Everton has also courted, and Tottenham, among others, has been demanding a weekly wage of £180,000 throughout this holdout.

Lingard is said to have received proposals from clubs in Major League Soccer and a team in Saudi Arabia.

Still, West Ham is hesitant to spend that much, while Forest has demonstrated a willingness to destroy their wage structure to acquire him.

There have been rumours circulating that claim Forest is bracing themselves for the England international to sign with West Ham.

It would appear that Forest is coming closer and closer to getting their man. Rumours were circulating late last night that Evangelos Marinakis had desperately attempted to sign Jesse Lingard for Nottingham.

The attacking forces of Forest are in desperate need of reinforcements. Since both Lewis Grabban and Philip Zinckernagel have left the club, the roster has been significantly reduced.

Lingard is a very seasoned player, and throughout his time at United, he racked up more than 200 playing minutes for the club.

In addition, he was the star of the show throughout the 16 games he played on loan for West Ham, scoring nine times and collecting five assists.

West Ham, on the other hand, believes it is highly likely that they will not be able to reunite with Lingard.

David Moyes has been after Lingard for the entire summer. The dynamic offensive midfielder had a successful loan at West Ham the previous season, and David Moyes has made multiple attempts to buy him permanently.

Nevertheless, West Ham has become increasingly irritated during discussions with Lingard. They have questioned his will to play for them, and sources suggest that Lingard should already be participating in pre-season training by now.

Moyes is interested in signing a player capable of playing in the left-wing position. Ben Brereton Daz of Blackburn might be a viable target for West Ham United if Jesse Lingard decides to sign with Forest.
