Winning a trophy in any sporting event is usually the highest achievement, and football will be no exception.
When reflecting on the clubs with the most trophies, famous names such as Real Madrid, PSG, Bayern Munich, and Manchester United come to mind due to their history and continued success and supremacy in European football.
However, when the entire world is considered, none of those names makes the top five. So, which team has collected the most trophies?

Olympiacos is the top football club in Greek history. The club, based in the Greek capital of Athens, has 46 Greek League titles, 28 Greek cup titles, and four Greek super cup titles, for a total of 78 national trophies.
The club’s dominance is reinforced by the fact that all other Greek clubs have only won the nation’s league title 39 times.
On the European stage, the club’s most remarkable performance was in the 1998/99 UEFA Champions League, when they reached the quarter-finals but were defeated by Juventus.
9. FC Porto-79 trophies
Porto is Portugal’s second most successful club and the world’s ninth, having won 72 domestic and seven international cup titles.
The club is only the second in Portuguese football history to go twice undefeated in the country’s Premier League title.
It is the most decorated among Portuguese teams in international competitions, having won two UEFA Champions League trophies, two Intercontinental Cups trophies, two UEFA Cup trophies, and one UEFA Super Cup trophy.

Benefica is the most successful club in Portugal, with 84 trophies and headquarters in the country’s capital city of Lisbon.
The club shines both in its home country and worldwide, having been voted 12th in the FIFA Club of the Century for the twentieth century and 9th in the IFFHS top 200 European clubs for the same century.
Benfica holds a record of many firsts in Portuguese football history, having won 80 domestic cups. Internationally, the club has won the UEFA Champions League twice in a row, a record in Portuguese football history.

Real Madrid is a club deserving of a spot on this list, given its track record of success over the years. The Madrid-based club is one of football’s most decorated clubs. Its also the most valuable club in the world
Madrid is unquestionably a force to be reckoned with, having won 34 La Liga titles, 12 Supercopa de Espana, 19 Copa Del Rey, 1 Copa de la Liga, and 1 Copa Eva Duarte.
The club also has 26 European trophies, including 13 UEFA Champions League.

Barcelona, Spain’s most famous football club, is another Spanish giant on our list. The club is based in the Catalan Community of Spain’s second-most densely populated municipality and unofficial capital.
The team is frequently ranked among the top three best-performing clubs in Europe, a commendable achievement given that it has won 75 domestic and 20 European and international titles.
Barcelona is one of the most valuable and popular teams in the world, and IFFHS has named it the best club in the world for the past five years. Furthermore, its players have won twelve Ballon d’Or awards and five FIFA World Player of the Year awards.

Celtic FC, based in Glasglow, Scotland, is ranked fifth on our list. Though not the most successful club in Scotland, the club is one of only five in football history to have won more than 100 trophies.
They have 106 silverware, including 51 Scottish league titles won sequentially for the past nine years.
Celtic became the first British club to win the UEFA Champions League in 1966/67, marking their best-ever achievement on an international stage.
4. Atletico Penaro – 109 trophies
Penarol, located on the outskirts of Uruguay’s capital Montevideo, is the country’s second-most decorated club. Since joining Uruguay’s top-tier Primera Division in 1900, the club has never been relegated.
It has 109 silverware, 50 Primera Division titles and five Copa Libertadores.
