Football legend Sir Alex Ferguson is popular for his time as Manchester United’s manager. While managing the Scottish national team in 1985, he rose to popularity like a phoenix.
For 26 years, he was in charge of Manchester United’s first team and proved himself to be the greatest and best manager in the club’s history.
He won 38 domestic and international honours at Manchester United between 1986 and 2012. It is a record for the most English Premier League titles won by a single team.
During his tenure, the club won two UEFA Champions League crowns and five FA Cups. Manchester United also won 10 FA Community Shields and four League Cups under Ferguson’s leadership.
In addition, the Red Devils won the FIFA Club World Cup in 2008 under his leadership as manager of the team. He remains the best football coaches of all time.
CARLO ANCELOTTI
Carlo Ancelotti, best known for his stint at AC Milan in Serie A, is among the best football coaches of all time. He managed Real Madrid, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, PSG, and other clubs.
He won four of Europe’s top five leagues. Ancelotti has won the UEFA Champions League four times. In 2021, Ancelotti he replaced Zidane as Real Madrid’s manager.
He won the UEFA Intertoto Cup with Juventus in 1999. The UEFA Champions League twice, the Serie A and the Coppa Italia once. In 2007, he won the FIFA Club World Cup with the Italian club.
In 2009-10, Ancelotti won the Premier League and FA Cup with Chelsea. In 2014, Real Madrid won the UEFA Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, Copa del Rey, and UEFA Super Cup. Bayern Munich won the Bundesliga in 2017.
JOSE MOURINHO
Jose Mourinho is undoubtedly among the best football coaches of all time. He is credited with his work at Real Madrid.
Mourinho began his coaching career in 1994 as an assistant manager of Porto after a brief professional football career. He then managed Chelsea, Inter Milan, and Real Madrid, to name a few.
From 2016 to 2018, he coached Manchester United in the English Premier League. Then, he took to Tottenham Hotspur from 2018 to 2021. He moved to AS Roma in 2021. Between 2003 and 2012, he won a prize every year.
Mourinho won the Premier League and Football League Cup with Chelsea three times apiece. And he won the UEFA Champions League in 2010 with Inter Milan.
El Clasico, La Liga, and the Supercopa de Espana were all won under his direction. The FA Community Shield, UEFA Europa League, and EFL Cup in 2017 were all won during his tenure at Manchester United.
ARSÈNE WENGER
Arsene Wenger remains the best EPL coach in football history. He retired as Arsenal’s head coach in 2018 after 22 years at the helm.
Wenger wan nicknamed “Le Professeur” because of his influence on English football players’. He focused on training and nutrition during the 1990s.
He won the French Ligue 1 with AS Monaco in 1988 and the Coupe de France with the team in 1991. Nagoya Grampus, where he played for just one season in 1995, won the Emperor’s Cup and the Japan League Super Cup.
His tenure as Arsenal’s head coach resulted in three English Premier League titles in 1998, 2002, and in 2004.

Our top five list on the best football coaches of all time wouldn’t be complete without mentioning Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola.
Pep’s influence on Lionel Messi’s rise to popularity is an interesting tidbit. Since 2016, he has been in charge of the Reds, following stints at Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
Pep won La Liga three times and the Copa del Rey twice during his time at Barcelona. The Catalans also won UEFA Champions League and Super Cup trebles under his leadership.
Barca won the FIFA Club World Cup in 2009 and 2011 under his leadership.
