Police pick on Sammy Omollo and Musa Otieno after firing Bobby

• They have not won a single match in any of their last seven outings 

Wobbly Kenya Police FC have picked on two former Kenyan internationals, Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo and Musa Otieno to stabilize the ship after a torrid campaign in their maiden FKF Premier League appearance.

The club sacked head coach John Bobby Ogolla after a disastrous run of form that has seen them slump to 13^th in the standings after a run of seven matches without victory.

This is despite the club having spent considerably huge amounts in the transfer window, bringing on board galacticos like Musa Mohamed Harun Shakava, Francis Kahata, Clifton Miheso and Elvis Rupia, but results are yet to show.

While Mohamed and Miheso who is the club’s top scorer with 10 goals have been impressive, the rest of the new signings have been below par and the performances on the pitch have made the club’s honchos to make a decision on the technical bench.

Omollo, who has coached Posta Rangers this season and was the assistant coach at Gor Mahia until last month, has already taken charge of his first training session. For Otieno, this is the first time he will ever be on the technical bench of a Premier League team.

For Pamzo, he is delighted to have had a return back to the Premier League and he remains confident that he is capable of helping the side stabilize their season.

“I really feel delighted to have been given this opportunity and I was welcomed well. I know it is not going to be an easy task but we are ready for it. Looking at the team, I am certain we have a very good squad with some experienced players and it is just a matter of giving them confidence and showing them it is possible to do well,” said the coach.

The former Posta Rangers tactician has picked on ex Harambee Stars skipper Otieno as his assistant, and he believes together they form a strong partnership.

“He is a person I know very well off the pitch and we played together at national team level. I am certain we will exchange ideas and take the team forward,” he added.

Coincidentally, Omollo’s first match in charge will be against the team he last coached, Gor Mahia FC, where he worked as an assistant coach until January.

“It will be very interesting coaching against the same team I coached a month ago. I know they have a good team and it will be tough. But we will try get a positive result,” said Omollo.

The coach says he will not change much in the team, insisting that he knows they have a good squad and only need to beef up the belief and confidence in the team.

“We are not going to put a target on the team but the aim is to play well in each match. We just need to go a step at a time and see what we need to improve in the mindset and not necessarily the personnel,” said the coach.
