Reigning champions Express FC start life without Wasswa Bbosa with a trip to Busoga United.
The two sides clash at Kakindu with the hosts fighting for their life while the visitors want to stay in touch with the leading pack as they intend to defend their title.

Former Bbosa assistant James Odoch will be in charge and is aware of the threat the second from the bottom side poses for his charges.

“Tomorrow’s (Friday) game is going to be tough; my history tells me we’ve always had a tough time when playing away in the east,” he told the club website.

“Busoga is a good team despite their league position but according to the training we’ve done, the boys are in good shape and I believe we shall win the game”.

The visitors are without long term absentee Arthur Kiggundu at left-back but have everyone available for selection as they look to end a run of three games without maximum points.

Akena powered home past goalkeeper Emmanuel Akol off a distant free-kick from Solomon Akodi.
Norman Odipio equalized for Maroons in the dying minutes of the first half as the halftime mandatory break was all square at 1-goal apiece.

Maroons then took the lead by forwarding Fred Amaku in the 48th minute.
In the fifth minute off the normal time, William Kiibi netted the third goal.

Maroons is now second on 25 points off 13 matches, two points shy of the leaders’ Blacks Power.

Lira based Blacks Power leads the standings with 27 points after a 2-0 home win over visiting Calvary at the Akii Bua Memorial Stadium.

John Paul Acire and mid-season signing Fred Okot scored for the home side who have now won 8 matches in 13 games.

Meanwhile, Kataka Football Club completed a season double over Proline with a 3-0 triumph at the Mbale Municipal Stadium.

The goals from Bashir Kyazze dreadlocked Francis Odongo and Emmanuel “Messi” Mukisa all the Godfrey “Toldo” Awachango’s coached side needed to record maximum points.

Kataka now has 24 points and lies third.

Luweero United edged visiting Nyamitybora 1-0 at the Kosovo playground in Luweero.

Forward Derrick Mudali was the hero with the all-important goal on the evening.

Mudali struck as early as the 11th minute as the Kosovo Boys rallied to their fourth victory in as many as 12 matches.

The goal margin would have changed for the better if Allan Tebusweke, a mid-season signing for Luweero United carried the goal scoring boots.

Tebusweke missed a glittering goal scoring opportunity, failing to bury home a one-against-one incident with the goalkeeper.

Maximum points for Luweero United elevated them to 8th on the 11 team log with 15 points.

Consequently, Nyamityobora suffered their 8th defeat in 13 matches which leaves them on just 7 points, the same as Malaba Youth Development Association (MYDA).

Kyetume beat visitors Malaba Youth Development Association (MYDA) 2-1 at Nakisunga Ssaza playground.

Two Ezra’s; Bidda and Kizito Kaye scored for Kyetume with Paul Orono netting for MYDA.

Three clubs shall be promoted to the Uganda Premier League for the season 2022-2023.

Matchday 14 shall be played on 6th March 2022.
