Manchester City win against Chelsea
Manchester City has moved 13 points clear in Premier League after a great win against Chelsea, but coach Pep Guardiola has insisted the title will not be decided in January. Thomas Tuchel concedes as Kevin De Bruyne made the difference as Chelsea fire frustrating blank to leave title hopes in tatters.
The Belgian midfielder was the match-winner and man of the match against Chelsea. City boss recognized the significance of Manchester City’s 1-0 victory over Blues but reiterated the Premier League title could not be won in January.
The City’s midfielder struck his fifth goal against former club Chelsea 20 minutes before the match ended, in a hard-fought battle over the European champions which enabled them to take another crucial chance towards retaining their crown. City boss challenged the Belgian midfielder to harness his world-class talent to continue to propel City to success after flooring former club, Chelsea.
At the moment, City had notched up a dozen Premier League wins on the spin, Chelsea has won just four league wins as their title challenge has fallen away. Nothing other than a victory at the Etihad Stadium would have given them hopes.

It is not easy to tell who may win the champion in January thinking upon Chelsea, and Liverpool has matches in hand. If they win it will just be eight points and eight points in January is nothing.

Following Chelsea’s performance, it was no surprise that Tuchel cut a hugely frustrated figure on the touchline for much of the competition. The German was not pleased with the positioning of Sarr, was disappointed by his players passing backward having beaten the first wave of Manchester City, and their inability to complete simple balls into the attacking trio.
Lukaku dire particular fury from Tuchel, however, when he failed to maintain Chelsea attacks. On three occasions in the opening half, Chelsea managed to get the ball into the feet of the Belgian but either because of a poor touch or loose pass, possession was cheaply lost.
On one occasion, Tuchel hooped about his technical area before he gave his coaching staff a piece of his mind. And yet it was the striker who had Blues’ best chance of the match. Early into the second half, Lukaku was slipped through and was one-on-one with Ederson. He attempted to curl his shot beyond the Man City goalkeeper but his effort was saved.
