State drops charges against FKF boss Nick Mwendwa

Embattled FKF Boss Nick Mwendwa appearing in court

The State has preferred not to press any charges against embattled Football Kenya Federation (FKF) boss Nick Mwendwa and instead chosen to close the file.

Mwendwa was arrested on November 12 and spent the weekend behind bars before being produced in court on November 15. He was later released on a Sh4mn cash bail and returned to court two days later for a ruling on whether he will be detained for another 14 days.

The court however refused to grant prosecution the required 14 days and instead asked them to prefer charges against the FKF boss or drop the case altogether.

Now, the prosecution has decided not to prefer any charges against Mwendwa, rendering him a free man. The Court has also instructed that the FKF boss be refunded the SH4mn cash bail he deposited for his freedom.
